KIERAN LESTRANGE MORBID,
a character profile
Dearest Eleazar Fig,
I entrust that this letter receives you well. I write to you to inform you that the ministry insisted it to be you that would be in charge of our—well, I simply refer to him as the wizarding world’s problem child.
His name is KIERAN MORBID, a curious name with an even more curious history I'm afraid. Curious enough actually, Morbid is not even his true family name—(I urge of you with everything in my being to keep this bit of information to yourself) He had been discarded by briefly after the murder of his grandfather and grandmother by his father to presumably be ASMODEUS LESTRANGE , KIERAN himself to be the missing bastard half blood of the Lestrange family.
He seems to know nothing about his true heritage despite the Lestrange emblem engraved onto the back of his gloves that it is best forbidden he ever takes off (you may inquire him yourself as to why) . He revealed to us that all he's known before we found him is that he'd been ran out of practically every muggle orphanage to orphanage in the British Isles due to their fears of him being cursed (not that they're entirely wrong).
A wizard unaware of his own magical abilities living in the muggle dominion during a time of wizard persecution obviously entails he didn't have a particularly enviable childhood. He had been referred to as a cursed child, the kids in orphanages feared him because of the strange things that would happen near him, the boy was most likely heavily bullied. There'd be rumors about how his presence sucked the life out of things, he never takes off those bloody gloves (interesting to note as well, KIERAN remarked they were the only thing in his possession that he has of his birth family. It seems his father were to have gifted them to him, but rather cruel of a father to throw away his son and leave him with nothing but something to sheath his—predicament) .
The caretakers at some of the orphanages tell us that He would toy around with flower petals and watch their tips dance in a dark glow and flame up as they'd wither away, that his eyes would gleam an eerie gold when the moon is up (we hoped that these rumors were to be taken lightly, however when you see the boy for yourself I believe you'll understand their statements better for yourself.)
Despite his grim backround, he seems to have grown with a kind heart however, The boy is nothing short of polite and incredibly affable. I suppose we must owe it to the muggle couple that he resided with three years prior—AAHANA and THERIUS MORBID. They'd found him one day after he'd been living on the streets for a period of time on his run and offered him a warm roof (something about them not being able to have children of their own and their own families not supporting their entanglement and they too had been runaways).
He's terribly fond of them, couldn't keep his mouth shut about their business and how they were brilliant people. They sound to be awfully kind folk to have taken in a boy like him despite his looks and rumors, its rather a shame that they've perished the way that they did.
It is actually why he currently resides in ministry custody.
If you'll remember the daily prophet a few weeks back pertaining to a dreadful incident about an entire village and its inhabitants that seemed to have been withered to the ground, some form of mass destruction took place with the only things left in its wake was the macabre of rotting and blackened foundations of the buildings and rapidly decayed corpses.
Myself and just one other unspeakable were tasked with investigating this ordeal, as you can assume we had questioned the severity of the situation (to be frank, the sheer thought of what could possibly cause an entire village blowing up into oblivion is, concerning) but our fear should override any curiosity we originally had when we found a boy in the middle of it all, passed out yet unharmed and untouched in the slightest despite his surroundings, for him to wake and not recall a single thing—yes, KIERAN LESTR MORBID is a very severe concern of ours.
I write to you to beg of you to guide him and possibly reccomend him a late acceptance to Hogwarts. Despite his good-natured-aptitude I fear at all if a day should come where that changes. This boy is going to do great things, be it terrible or noble I can only hope for the ladder with your guidance.
I apologize for the sudden nature of this request, however I knew both you and Miriam are yet to have dissapoint us thus far. Should you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to send an owl my way. or should the lestrange boy turn out to be uncontrollable or too unpredictable for the ministrys sake, know the stakes of his own life resides in your hands.
Yours dearly,
An old friend
[APPEARANCE!]
'What does he look like'? Well, I can promise that there isn't a way at all possible that you should miss him in a crowd. When he stepped foot into the ministry halls, as if his story weren't a commotion already, oh boy when everyone got a good look at his looks. (lets say no one that knows of his true linneage would deny it after one look at him, the lestrange's were all notorious for being easy on the eyes). French yet his muggle mother seems to must have been of a South Asian origin, striking amber eyes that look as if they were lined with gold. Dark hair that looked to not catch a spec of light. A handsome face crowned on a handsome build (awfully fit, for a wizard his age).
notched slits in both his ears (two on his right, one on his left), in a strange tandem his eyebrows were slitted in the opposite ways (two on his left, one on his right). I don't mean to theorize, however I suspect they have to be his own survivor's marks from the muggles' treatment.
However I think you'll be even more curious about the more striking aspect of his features—I do have to say, the boy is absolutely scarren (though I hesitate at all to call him 'marred') . the strange intricately patterned scars that sliver up the lengths of his arms and bust, up to his left eye are from his birth-curse, the toll of a backfired killing curse showcased just how it moved under his skin in the form of scars. He has one other cut in the corner of his lips, this scar is a more natural one, he was heavily bullied in muggle orphanages and was actively sought to have been killed on the spot, his mouth scar is from a time he was running for his life and knicked it while falling somewhere.
oh, my!
[WAND LORE]
PHOENIX CORE, ELDER WOOD,
This wand was practically more alive than the others at Ollivander's, the phoenix that the feather belonged to was one that was wronged and tortured by the wizards that captured it, the phoenix angry with the massacre of its brothers and sisters burst itself into a fire of fury and killed the remaining wizards and itself so noone else could have their feathers, only one single feather was left in its wake which was taken to make a wand.
This phoenix feather bowed to no one, the wand itself had self destructive properties, its shape originally was a sleak and carved straight wood ended up bursting open to expose the wand core and was hardly graspable. The wand was deemed unusable in its state, barely looking like one as well and anyone that tried to hold it inevitably seemed to be "bitten" by the jaggared chips and spikes in the wand itself. Ollivander could never throw out a wand, even one that was "broken". He kept it around and when KIERAN was heartbroken that after his tenth wand that didn't match, Ollivander was stumped. Never had he had someone so—troubling to fit. He had a thought, a curiosity.
He felt off about the boy when he first stepped in, his looks, his eyes, his peculiar scars, his story. Everything about him was unordinary—including his unwavering kindness. He presented to him the broken wand, and to his shock the handle moved to fit his fingers in a pistol grip, and the exposed core covered up, the base of the wand being the only exposure of the core left, it appeared as eyes that glew a deep amber, a firey amber that mimiced KIERAN's eyes. Ollivander would feel an excitement and a fear with this wands perfect match. Another Ollivander wouldn't feel this fear again until Tom riddle and Harry Potter centuries later.
KIERAN could feel the heartache and longing his wand felt for its family, the wand and KIERAN understood each other very well. He would never leave anywhere without it attached to him after that day.

[EXTENDED BACKROUND INFO]
Pretty and a people pleaser, KIERAN doesn't have a single bad bone in his body. well, at least not until much later :) What's that saying again that every Lestrange man goes bad one way or another?
His father, ASMODEUS LESTRANGE fooled around in secret with a muggle woman and to his and his families horror she happened to have been pregnant at some point and showed up at their doorstep one day with the newborn baby. His grandfather was furious at the existence of a taint in the Lestrange's pure blood family line and he couldn't stand the idea that this child's name would ever be in their history.
the Lestrange's were incredibly proud and shrewd people, they were known to hold many family secrets—one of them would be that every other born son inherits the uncanny ability to wield and see an ancient magic. They believed they could only keep this ability if they kept their bloodline pure.
KIERAN's grandfather out of fury struck the baby with a blast of that magic. If wizards considered the killing curse to be unforgivable, The spell KIERAN was meant to be struck with makes 'avada kedavra' look innocent. KIERAN was meant to wither away, meant to shrivel and feel every bit of himself die and decay, meant to dissappear surely and not slowly—but what his grandfather didnt account for, was that KIERAN would have inherited this ancient magic too. The curse backfired, the blue and black vines of magic circled from the center of his heart and waved up to his face and hands but didn't go any further. The baby cried and the corruption suddenly ceased moving entirely, The Lestrange's were shocked. The baby would cry once more and then the blue and black magic would ricochet straight off of him and land on his grandparents and mother, killing them brutally instead. (talk about karma! oh but poor mother for getting in the crossfire..)
ASMODEUS LESTRANGEcould only stand and watch as his own parents cry in agony as they crumble to ash. When it was finally done, he was the only one left alive as he stood behind the boy, recieving a front row seat to the macabre show. What was he meant to do? He didnt want anything to do with the child, and he certainly wanted nothing to do with the killing machine now. The baby's crying wouldnt stop, he decided the next day to drop the cursed thing off at the doorstep to some muggle orphanage and decided fate could have this boy.
While the Lestrange man wanted nothing to do with the child, as the boy was born from his muggle mistress, he didn't know what came over him to leave the boy his gloves (that he enchanted so kindly). He was certainly no father, yet he felt somewhere in his cruel heart to leave it as a last homage to himself, that somewhere in the world his greatest mistake exists with proof he is his son.
Because of the curse that backfired on him as a baby, Since that day anything KIERAN touches with his bare hands that are alive wither and rot as if he sucks the life out of it. The game never really explains exactly what ancient magic is, but i like to think its the magic that resides in everything around them, essentially something like the magic within life itself. KIERAN'S curse absorbs the life (or if you will, ancient magic) he touches against his will, and over time he unconciously accumulates this power inside him, hence why he was so profficient in magic upon the begining of him attending Hogwarts.
his hands essentially CORRUPT, and they can't corrupt things that are already corrupted, (so he can touch things that have been afflicted by dark magic) . If he were to touch say a piece of bread or meat without his gloves, it would rot or turn spoiled. If he were to touch a person, theyd rapidly decay and rot as if they were a dead body eroding except they'll be alive and experiencing that entire pain. Curiously enough, he is actually able to touch some things. His curse only applies to living things, however hes able to touch people or animals that have been afflicted or at all influenced by dark magic in any way. For instance, hes able to touch a basilisk as its a creature born out of dark magic. Hes also able to touch people that have used dark magic at any point in their time, like OMINIS GAUNT and SEBASTIAN SALLOW (which might be way he's so attached to them).
This notion fueled SEBASTIAN in his plight of insistance that the dark arts werent as evil as people claim to be. "Is it so bad OMINIS, if KIERAN can now hold me? Aren't you happy your family forced it on you when you were younger so you can hold him too?"
KIERAN will never forgive his hands for all the lives they've taken, perhaps thats why he tries to insist being so "good", as to atone for himself for the sin of his existence. Except that's really just the thing, no matter how much he tries to be good, at some point he's bound to break. (He can change his name all he likes, but hell always be the cursed child: KIERAN LESTRANGE.)
