this moment is not so meaningful for the fandom bc show made a joke out of stede's condition. but think how broken would stede be if british don't come for him (what means no reason for ed to return). he left stede with a thought what all he knew about the man he loves is a lie

what if in season 2, ed encounters a siren, and lets say sirens take the form of the person the victim loves. ed sees stede. and he's been missing him so much that he heads full speed into the vision, ordering the crew not to protest. stede is back, and ed doesn't even have the mind to be mad. he doesn't care, he's just so happy to see him again.

and then the mirage lifts and a monster is in front of him, ready to attack, and he should've known it was too good to be true. stede is still gone and the wound of him leaving him is cut open again like its brand new.

i really need a fic where stede is still haunted by badminton twins hallucinations after reuniting with ed and they almost made stede shoot "them" (someone who he thought was nigel r chauncey) — and stede finally should tell about it bc COME ON HE'S SEEING HIS DEAD BULLIES

imagine ed trying to talk with him and calm him down but stede sees and hears twins instead of him--

maybe they're around all the time commenting everything stede do and say. they're in his dreams so he can't even sleep well and slowly it brings stede to the edge
