I’m dying. This is great!
#there’s a guy with very important information bleeding out like a foot away from him #and he can’t focus on anything but her #i mean she’s upright; she’s got her gun above her head. she’s fine. #but he can’t even muster the presence of mind to even look at the GUY WHO IS DYING until he’s sure she’s okay #he can’t #he doesn’t move to take cover #he pulls her jacket aside to make sure she’s not shot #and then later it doesn’t even register that he watched a man die #just that he almost watched her die #i’m just forever obsessed with the tunnel vision richard castle gets whenever kate beckett’s life is in danger #he just throws himself in front of bullets like it’s nbd
Happy birthday Kate Beckett! (November 17, 1979)
“She’s a little girl, she’s a tigress, and she’s a warrior. She’s insecure and she’s indomitable. She’s everything.”
Sometimes I think about the other people who work at the precinct, the officers who’ve been there for decades, who saw Beckett come in as a rookie, closed off and prickly. And I think about them watching her grow and change and open up to Castle, to the point where she’s holding her arms out to him and letting him pick her up off her feet in their shared joy. I think about all of that and I wonder what they think of it all.

Y’all I forgot how amazing Season 6 is! The Casketty goodness, the cases, the bromance... all top notch!
Red Handed
Written for World Book Day
Every few sentences he’d sneak a peek at her and smile at the way her eyes were alight, the way she was hanging on every word of the story. He turned the page, turning back to the book in his hands and continued weaving the tale that had his little girl so riveted.
“Princess! youngest princess! Open the door for me! Do you not know what you said to me Yesterday by the cool waters of the well? Princess, youngest princess! Open the door for me!”
“I can’t believe you’re reading her Grimm. She’s too young for that!”
His head whipped up as he slammed the book, hiding it instinctively. He turned to see one his very annoyed wife striding into the bedroom and glaring at him.
“Mom! It was just getting good.”
He tried not to smirk at the indignation in his little girl’s voice.
“I said you could read these when you were older.”
“I’m older. I’m nine. And I’m not reading it. Dad is.”
His wife sighed, knowing their daughter was too stubborn for their own good. “Please Mom?”
“If you have bad dreams, you wake your Dad first,” she teased, and sat on the bed.
“Deal.”
He watched the two of them hug and his wife drop a kiss to their head. “Goodnight Katie.”
“Night Mom,” Kate smiled.
He watched as she glared at him. Yep, he was in trouble. But his little girl was loving this, and okay he may be a little bit of a pushover when it came to her. And her grandfather had already read her one of the other Grimm tales and she’d been fine after that.
“Don’t worry, I’m censoring it,” Jim tried to reassure her.
Johanna rolled her eyes at him. “Still in trouble.”
She left the two of them to it and Jim turned to share a grin with his daughter. “Busted, bug.”
“Read me a little more?” she asked, batting her eyelashes at him.
He chuckled and opened the book, continuing for a little longer until she’d fallen asleep. He tucked her in, dropped a kiss to her forehead and left the room, turning the light out.
“A lot of people ask me when and how I knew I was in love with Detective Kate Beckett. I knew I was a goner when I woke up one morning with an irresistible urge to make her my signature pancakes. […] The only times I’ve ever wanted to make pancakes have been when I wanted to cheer up someone I love. Simple as that, pancakes equal love. So does a good cup of coffee, but pancakes, those are serious.”
Happy International Pancake Day!
love is in the little things - part 2/4 (x,x,x)
Her father isn’t a cop, but never let it be said that Jim Beckett doesn’t have the keen eye of one. She knows the moment he spies the new addition to her wardrobe, grins at the knowing joy in his eyes. “Hi Dad,” she murmurs, kissing his cheek before she sits down. “Hi Katie.” Her father catches her hand turning the ring up to the light. “I see you have something to tell me.” Kate Beckett laughs, swiping her hair off her forehead. “Yeah, yeah I do.” She clears her throat. “Dad, Castle and I are getting married.”
Keep me close. Always.
How are you gonna pop the question? Hot air balloon? Sky writer? Jumbo-tron? I thought I’d just ask. Nuh-uh. You can’t just ask. You gotta make a statement. It’s gotta be big.

READERS!
I’ve just received five author copies of my book A Living Fire (now in paperback) and I want to offer them up to one of you. Well, five of you, actually. You can win a single paperback copy of A Living Fire which I will personalize and sign and then ship to your place! (Even overseas!)
Here’s how it works: you must be following me, and you have to reblog this post. That’s all. After the posting closes in a week (1/31/20), five people will be randomly picked for their own copy. I’ll message you via tumblr and get your specifics (what color ink, what’s your preferred name), then I’ll let you know when it’s posted.
If you head to my Amazon author page and leave a review of ANY of my books, and you’re one of the randomly selected, you’ll also get a fun prize in your mail.
So review the books, follow me on tumblr, and reblog this post!
Love you all! I’m so grateful for your support of my work.
