I realized earlier today that the orion lunar flyby starts in the middle of my console shift tomorrow. I might actually lose it

Artemis 2: Do you know what the red/green lines in the digital broadcast are? Is that digital interference with solar activity... or something else?

Could be RF interference with the sensor or degradation of the signal back to Earth. Since the video feeds have red green and blue channel encoding if data in one or more channels is corrupted a bit along the path it can show up as artifacts in the other channels. And the feeds generally need to go through several stages before they get to us, whether from the spacecraft through TDRS to ground sites or direct to LEO support ground sites or (later in the mission) through the deep space network. Lots of processing and handling happens at each stage of the data relay!

I did see blue lines across the brighter areas of the craft after this ask. It totally makes sense that it's an rbg misstiming/interference in broadcast by a very small margin, but often enough to create those artifacts.

Right now there is barely any of that, just missing groups of pixels randomly which indicates some small data loss in broadcast, but it is still very clear.
