on singer-songwriter songs

i always go back to singer-songwriter songs that show emotion (esp love) at the core of 'human'-ness - in the lyrics

Like a Star - Corinne Bailey Rae how universal personal experiences are recreated in spaces they weren't originally created is v romantic whether it be the melody or just the feelings

Angel - Jack Johnson although these emotions can be conveyed through other styles of music i think this is the simplest. it doesn't have unnecessary accessories (extra instruments, contradicting tone) for the sake of having them

Delicate - Kina Grannis it's also the the most 'omnipresent' - anyone can instinctively understand the emotions through this style of music whilst it may not be for other styles because its a human using themselves directly as a medium in expressing themselves. (?)

when i'm not feeling a lot, these songs remind me that i'm capable of feeling? i wish i was able to clearly express everything i feel bc i think i'm good at feeling.! i cant even do it through other people's songs
