Half-woke up today and got my phone off the charger
My brother sent me a yt short about Vash’s gun and it hat a silhouetted Knives in it
Somehow, I thought he was Legato from the silhouette. So when I actually woke up, I thought I’d got so fucked up in that half-awake state that I hallucinated Legato Bluesummers🥹
Ranting about SotM VR BCS im one of the five people who had the hardware to play it day 1
Also SotM is my favorite fnaf game🥹
If you don’t wanna read the whole thing: it’s buggy, makes me motion sick, and not built for 360 view of certain cutscenes
Full yap sesh under the cut
Okay, so. SotM VR mode. Zoo wee mama. I have SO much to say about this
Bugs I found:
Note: I haven’t played it in its entirety. I’ve played the same run on and off with my brother. So I’ve only done certain parts while he’s done others. There may be even more bugs than this. I have beaten the game by myself in static/flat mode multiple times, all endings
-camera being clipped into the Captain springlock suit’s head in the doll hospital after the puppet show’s fade-to-black
-the springbonnie bobblehead in Arnold’s van having two heads in the parachute.exe ending cutscene after the crash. One head still attached and one on the roof of the car
-M2 clipping through a road rail in the same cutscene after stealing your data diver
-a cloth being stuck to the floor of the van after the crash, defying gravity since the car is upside down
-being able to access the Monty springlock suit in parachute.exe’s fnaf 1 section before starting the sequence. You can just, crank his stage open and get in him. All before spawning M2 in
-lockers only respond to the trigger inputs and not the secondary button(which works the exact same as the trigger; to grab or interact with things)
-death screen is late(around 2 seconds)
-respawn visual(it’s like a film countdown) is TINY
-items can get highlighted when you let go of them and STAY THAT WAY FOR THE REST OF THE GAME. You can see them from everywhere and it will not go away
-thrown item’s trajectory is bad(might also be a skill issue). I’ll throw smth with so much force and it’ll land at my feet
-sometimes dual-hand(star orphans in fundaphobia basement, springlock suit parts) items like to drop
-the mimic seems to react oddly to the distraction rats in VR mode. Often not hearing them(may be a skill issue; thrown too far from it)
-some things lack collision while others don’t. The springlock suit parts WILL get stuck on the brown doors during the workshop part
-if you jump during the parachute.exe ending cutscene, you can see the proto-mimiclings and M2 pre-loaded above your van. The roof has no collision to stop this
-the shutter in the Mr Helpful cart ride closes before you finish that slow turn before getting off at the retail showroom
-some cutscenes were just not made for 360 viewing🥹
Other stuff ion rlly like:
-the movement makes me kinda nauseous. I don’t usually get motion sickness from games. But smth about this one. It like, makes my body lean to try and correct(?) the movements?? It’s so weird. I found myself leaning a lot subconsciously while playing
-data diver physics are weird(I wish there was just a button input to grab it)
-Big Top’s minigame section is INSUFFERABLE(might be a skill issue) I could be sneaking so slowly and still died like 30 times🥹
-Arnold does not cough or catch his breath after the chases end, unlike in flat mode. However, he still does his idle breathing.
-Arnold’s hands do not move when doing the grab inputs. This one’s just personal. I like when I press the buttons and get to watch the hands move in my VR games. It’s good for stimming.
-no proper way to pet the Clean-O-Vacs as a result of Arnold’s hands NOT FUCKING MOVING🥹 you just have to aggressively clip your hands into them
-the update being PSVR2 exclusive, and Steel Wool not telling anyone, was a shitty move. But honestly? Maybe it’s better they didn’t release it to the masses in the state it’s in
-it’s insanely easy to turn off the computers. Either by accidentally yanking the data diver out, or accidentally hitting a button
-data diver upgrades are clunky
On the plus side:
-opening doors js quicker
-I get to be my Blorbo(Arnold)
-getting to look around in the cutscenes is kinda fun
Anyway, I do apologise for the insane yapfest, but I js
