The world does enough of that already.
A reminder that healing is not linear, does not happen overnight and sometimes you discover wounds that you didn’t even know were there. Set backs are a part of your journey. Be easy on yourself.

Accepting your limitations and that you can't work or can't work full time or need to drop out of school, or whatever the case may be, because of your mental health condition, does not mean that you don't want to get better or does not mean that you're "letting your illness win".
Our mental health conditions put limits on us and what we can do, and while recovery can mean that we find ways to do those things again, it can take a long time, or we may just never be able to do certain things, and that's okay.
Honouring those limits-- whether they're temporary or chronic-- is important if we want to be well, and not suffer. It doesn't mean that we're giving up. It's better and safer to honour those limits than to hurt ourselves constantly trying to cross them.
look. i don’t think my stretch marks are beautiful. i don’t think they’re tiger stripes or natural tattooos. i don’t think my acne is beautiful. i don’t think the bags under my eyes are beautiful. i just think they’re human. and i don’t think i have to be beautiful all of the time in order to be accepted and loved and sucessful. i don’t think every small detail of my outer appearence needs to be translated into prettiness.
fun fact: this POV is actually called “body neutrality” and it’s SO MUCH more accessible/realistic for a lot of people. it’s based on the idea that the way we look is the least interesting/important thing about who we are, and that our bodies are worthy of respect regardless if they fit the mold of the current beauty ideals.
