A brief history of the major signature shoes in the first 40 yrs of sneaker history what’s your favorite pair. From the world famous and highly popular Chuck Taylor Allstar to nikes best selling Jordan line , Kobe line LEBRON line adidas drose line and much more. Rowing up many of the footwear I included were staples on the basketball courts and school yards in my neighborhood and throughout New York City. You could find kids emulating Jordan , Kobe ,and who didn’t live the AI crossover. It was part of the procedure in learning the game you emulated your favorite athlete and it started with the feet’s. As stated by Mars it had to be the shoes. Some people think the shoes make the man and its hard to tell these super star athletes any different when they were breaking the mold and making history on the way. Kids like me all over the world and all across time who just wanted to rub shoulders with greatness and look fly while doing so.

It’s always wonderful to see brands that owe so much to the hip hop community give back to those communities. I’m from the same neighborhood as the late great Christopher Wallace better know as Notorious BIG Biggie Smalls. The school pictured above is the school I and my brother graduated from Crispus Attucks CS 21. It warms my heart to see good being done in the community especially at a time that many people are struggling and many people have been lost. I tip my hat to the Kith brand because there are many companies that use the art created in under privileged sections of New York that don’t do anything but take. Glad to know there are partners out there that actually want to put there’re money where there mouth us is and should be commended and celebrated. To cover the needs of now to better the future and spread love and hope in the name of a legend is a wonderful way to honor the memory of one of the greatest rappers to ever live and I’m looking forward to participating in a great cause.

So over the last couple of weeks the big story has been about the Nike exec who had to resign because her son was reselling. I have a few issues with what transpired and I’ll go over a few of them here. First off Nike has very strict rules about reselling and abusing the discounts they extend to they’re employees. So for sometching of such magnitude to be going on the amount of time it was going means that someone dropped the ball and wasn’t doing they’re job. I have known employees who were in way lesser roles be held accountable for way less than hundreds of thousand of dollars worth of merchandise. In some articles I have read that even the execs card was used to make some of these purchases which is a big no no. My second issue is that reselling to me is corny there are ill ions of real life sneaker heads who can’t eat there hands on footwear and apparel because there’s some random weirdo with lots of money at there disposal who makes it almost impossible for regular people who plan on enjoying shoes in the manner they were designed as fashion as footwear not some way to make money. And third is this is I’m sorry to say it but another form of privilege and propagation of a culture that was never mainstream. The only reason way this spoiled lil boy was able to get his hands on some exclusive shoes is because his mother worked for the company and had the means to allow him to spend large amounts of money at one time. If he was young man of a darker hue Nike would have nipped it in the bud along time before anyone would have even noticed. And the exec would have been fired and never had the opportunity to resign. There are always more sneakers there are always more apparel. It’s not what they tell you in stores or online when they ,are theses releases every brand has more terry just don’t put them all out. The problem is that people who can afford to buy merchandise at full price usually don’t they are gifted it to make he hype train roll so everyone else can bend over backwards to find away to acquire these hyped up items. The game is rigged and I suggest people not take it to seriously. I love sneakers i love clothes but I also love my sanity don’t get caught up in the hype. Because that’s all it is most of the time.

So whats your preference are you a team Yeezy or team Jordan,

I personally only like one line of Yeezy I’m a super fan of the Yeezy500high i have them in most colors and I only like em because they give me vibes of top ten 2000 bball which is the sneaker Kobe wore his rookie season and i had those in a damn near every color. Ive been told the Yeezy350 are really comfortable but for me its not enough sneaker.

On the other hand I grew up with Jordan I was born in 87 Jordan was drafted in 84 by time I came along Mike was already the most popular athlete on the planet. Ive been wearing Jordans since before i could remember. There was a time in which i had to fall back from Mike because he was just to popular and i didn’t wanna look like and where what everyone else was doing. But still I have memories connected to watching Mike in Nikes at the time being dominant and getting on the court and wanting to be just like him.

When it comes to sneakers its not only about the fashion or the comfort for me. It’s about the emotional connection and memories i have with a shoe. Did iplay ball in em. Did I have good date in em. Did I put together a fire fit for em all these things one into play. I personally don’t thin Yeezy jumped over the Jumpman but I’m just one guy Mike still getting it but so is Yeezy. Speak on it

Today is the GOATS bday and on this day I’d like to ask what’s your favorite Jordan. Mine is the Jordan 12 black and red also known as the flugames. I remember a 10 year old Cap watching Michael Jordan play in these in real time giving knife work and he wasn’t even at his full strength. Had to be carried of the court at the en dog the game but he got the dub which is all that mattered. As a young man watching greatness as its happening all i could thing is where there is a will there his a way and that man made a way no doubt about it.

I am a sneaker head of the older variety. My love of sneakers started in the early 90s as a youth. I loved the sneakers that Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and the ballers that came after them. I’m not hypebeast so i Amy not always post what’s hot but i will always post sneakers that i have connection with that i loved growing up. There will be a broad spectrum of kicks that I love from it may be Nikes it may be Adidas or Reebok’s it to me it will always be heat. Fashion is what we make it its different for everyone so I’m just gonna represent myself and where i come from
