Emmy-Nomination for Work at NYT
Hey hey, so a quick 2017 note that I didn’t mention here: We got an Emmy Nomination for the Implicit Bias project I produced and shot at the NYT! Didn’t win, but it was cool to be in the room at the awards ceremony with all the fancy people... More to come.

One of the gazillion dancers we filmed over a week in Durham for the Dance Durham project, part of a new series for DCVB.

Fun fact: At one point I was kind of standing on the top of a bridge over a creek to get an angle on the crowd. Could have ended badly.

Put out a new video for @professortoon today. Filmed part of it in a thick cloud of smoke with a skater circling us in a bowl. Pretty intense shoot.

Hey! The picture I took of my dad using Google Cardboard ended up in the New York Times! They found it on Instagram, and kindly paid me and everything. Pretty neat. (He's 1 to the right and 3 down.)
Just released G Yamazawa's music video.
We filmed rapper G in his parents' restaurant, and the video is the story of his family trying to make it in America.
And, yes, we got free food on the shoot, and, yes, it was amazing. Looking forward to doing more with this dude.

Spent the evening of my birthday with friends who were receiving a hip hop education award at NYU, and caught this shadow of myself in the glass at the end of the night. It's been a strange and magical year, with a broken hand and trips to India and Japan. There's not really good years or bad years, I don't think, they're just divisions of convenience in an ongoing stream of odd. I have no other lives to compare things to, so I can't say how any of us stack up against any other group of people from other times we might have lived, but my friends and family make me feel strange and happy and that's what I ask of the world.
