Hey yall! Welcome to kidnap fam week 2025! This is my first time hosting any sort of event like this, so please bare with me as I figure out how to do everything :)

If you have any questions before the event starts please do feel free to post on the community or drop an ask in the official blogs ask box.

The date of the event will be September 22 to September 28th. I did it this late because @sindarweek and @ainurweek will also be taking place in September

Don't be an asshole. No slurs in here please. Cursing is fine as long as it isn't directed at another artist.

I hate that I have to say it, but just in case, please do not post any sort of idk fucked up art? Blood and dead bodies? Fine by me.

Is kidnap fam 2.0 allowed?:

Yes! This is mainly kidnap fam community, but I'll probably just count kidnap fam 2.0 as like an au or something!

Are prompts mandatory?:

No!!! The prompts will be merely suggestions/inspiration. You can use them, but you don't have to.

Anything kidnap fam is just fine! :)

I can't believe it, but I actually managed to complete every prompt for Kidnap Family Week 2025. (Shhhh--what do you mean they weren't always on time?)

It was such a delight to work through all the prompts, and I had so much fun! Thank you @kidnapfamweek, for putting it on.

No Sunday Snippit this week, I simply ran out of time, but do expect a Chapter 7 of The Tall Merman to come out around Wednesday.

Here we are, together again.

Six years old. Six thousand. What does it matter? You are still lost. I see it in your eyes.

I took a home from you once, tried to build one in its place. Patched together it was. Nought but driftwood and bones, scavenged from the shipwrecked past. A sad, draughty thing, but it held for a time.

You have lost too many homes, and must build another now, I fear. Fortunately, you are a better architect than I. Still, I will help if I can. Lay brick on brick until you’ve a place to belong.

I want to share some headcanons for day two of @kidnapfamweek, prompt - angst 👉👈

I love to imagine how terrifying he must have been to Elros and Elrond in the beginning. Total abuser-father vibes, where you listen to his footsteps to gauge what kind of mood he's in that day.

But Maedhros just has that kind of face 😭 He would look at the little ones and his heart would break with tenderness and sorrow. Knowing how afraid they were of him, he didn't dare come close, just stood there like a grim shadow, watching.

And imagine, Maglor was no help at all — he struggled to get the children to mind him, so he'd tell them things like, "If Maedhros finds out about this, he'll be angry!" And all Maedhros really wanted was a hug, for real, it's so unfair :")

Day 4, Adventure

I recetly chacked the timeline of Middle-earth's history and discovered that the War of Wrath began when Elrond and Elros were, like, 15 or 16 ears old?? And that made me come up with a fanfic plot where Elros, being a teenage brat, tries to run away to fight by joining the ranks of Men because he'd heard they took young ones. He hid his pointed ears, stole a sword and a mail shirt. He was hoping to meet his real father 😭 Sorry for angst again 😇
