found the problem.

the translators opted to say ‘this power’ in place of where it said me ni yakitsukeru, recording eyes.

the subtitles should say “you have always had the power of recording eyes”.

Imagine Kano and Kido are married and they bought a new house after they had kids. Kido works at a day care, but is on maternity leave and she doesn’t want Kano to be the only one working for them, especially after their second kid. So instead, their new home becomes a day care run by Kido, and Kano helps out after work or when he has a break to spend with his family.

It’s like a secret base filled with little children running around with Kido as the leader.
