Remember this super cute bonus art Hiro made for volume 6 that was titled “The theme of Japanese Style Romance”

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT HE MEANT. Took me months because Hiroja’s writing uses so much extremely coded symbolism but he’s referencing the love story of Orihime (also nicknamed Asagao Hime) and Hikoboshi from the Tanabata Star Festivel legend!!! I think he’s also probably referencing a piece of classical Japanese literature called Asagao Nikki/The Love of Asagao.

Asagao is morning glory in Japanese, the pattern depicted behind Kirio and on Iruma’s shirt in these drawings is called asagao sashiko! Morning glory is also one of the painted flowers featured in the Kai Awase scene in chapter 25. If you look closely at Kirio’s hat and within the fireworks on the cover of volume 7 there’s a star hidden in both scenes. ⭐️

This is Hiro’s love story for them. He wrote them to be literally star crossed lovers. Irukiri is canon!!!!!! I will elaborate more soon I’m gonna have to update my analysis they make me sick!!!!
