I really love the «theatrical» atmosphere in Good omens. It's like: hey, Do you want to play an angel that you don't look like, or are you of the other sex at all? do you want to play a demon, Satan, or God? Of course you can!

*If you don't understand what theater has to do with it: there are a limited number of actors in the theater, so you can play anyone

I also have a theory that angels look very different because they are divine and we can't perceive their appearance holistically, so our minds create a human image based on the few details the brain can focus on, such as a voice

But demons look "standard" because they are not divine, but rather material
