I know that people are generally annoyed by people who small talk but can we just talk about the people who small talk about small talk.
Like I just told you that everything's fine at work and now there's this awkward silence which can easily be avoided by you leaving.
But no, you just had to say something like "Small talk, am I right ?".
Yeah, that's gonna forward this conversation in a useful manner.
One of the Coolest Guys I knew
So one day in school we had a class party. Everyone were dressed up since uniforms were excused for this day. Naturally, everyone tried to sneak their smartphones in the school in the most creative ways possible. Of course, our class teacher arranged a full check of the classroom and confiscated the mobiles until the end of the day. There was this one guy who realized this and very smartly he switched his mobile off and put it in his pocket. He then went to the teacher and volunteered to help her check the backpacks of the whole class. Ultimately, many mobiles were found and the teacher was about to leave. Then, she suddenly stopped and asked the guy to hand over his smart phone to her. Everybody gasped and the teacher gave us one of the "You think you can fool us teachers but we see everything" look. Then she left.
Then, suddenly a mobile phone starts ringing and everybody turns their head at the back of the class. There was this student, unbothered with everything else, he calmly removed his slippers and lifted a phone from the sole of one of his slippers. He picked up the call and answered it and then put it back in his slippers and wore them again as if nothing had happened.
From that day onwards we gained a new respect for the guy
