Also, remember a tarot reading requires energy. It cannot be created from the nothing.
Abandon the darkness. Set your eyes to the horizon. Focus only upon moving forward towards the light. Know that this is your time to become something more than that which you currently are. Refine and perfect your craft. Do this and in time not only will you reach it, but eventually, you will become the light.
Occupation: Fortune Teller (and grunt) at the Darkmoon Faire
Appearance: Tall, athletic, sky blue eyes, short beard or scruff, sandy blonde hair swept back into a half tail, often wearing light leathers and a cloak, though from time to time he will wear robes.
Killian was born in Stormwind to a family of merchants. At a young age, he began to display an affinity for magic and was taken to begin his mage studies at the tower in the Mage District. At around the age of thirteen, the Darkmoon Faire opened its portals as it always did, and Killian snuck out of the tower on its final night in town with friends to Β see the wonders of the greatest show on Azeroth. Unfortunately, he got lost in the woods just as the portals closed and became trapped on Darkmoon Island. Out of the benevolence of his heart, Silas Darkmoon housed him, all Killian had to do was work off his debt.
It was a debt that would continue to grow over the years at any minor infraction of the conditions set upon him. Unbeknownst to him, his family mourned a runaway sonβ a lie his peers told to avoid repercussions for their actions. Nobody came looking for him as heβd initially thought, but at such a young age, it was easy to become distracted from finding his way back home with all of the marvels that the Darkmoon troupes held. Killian became a predominantly self-taught mage and learned how to use his magic to enchant items, conjure food and create illusions from various tomes, and even how to read fortunes from tarot cards from a gnoll.
Nineteen years passed, and with each month that the faire opened its portals, he watched the crowds of people from a multitude of backgrounds come in and out and enjoy the wonders the faire had to offer, never once thinking of plotting escapeβ that is, until recently when he realized that he would likely never see the light of the sun or experience the joys of a self-made life if he remained under Darkmoonβs thumb. After a chance encounter with a dwarf and a night elf who became interested in the enchanter, they plotted an escape and he is now discovering the world outside of Darkmoon Island once more.
Looking for connections! Killian is a human enchanter (on Wyrmrest Accord alliance!) who has only recently returned to Stormwind, so virtually everything that he hasnβt been able to see from within the Darkmoon Faireβs grounds is new to him. He is a mercenary for hire, able to do heavy lifting (he did a lot of grunt work at the faire!) and can enchant and disenchant magical items among other things.

From fire eaters to jugglers, musicians and performers, every Darkmoon Carnie worked tirelessly to bring joy and amazement for the seven short days the carnival opened its portals to the rest of Azeroth. Hordes of people of all factions flocked in to ravage the waters surrounding Darkmoon Island and gorge themselves on the delectable selections of fried faire fare.
Their wallets were heavy with gold, ready to spend on anything that would give them the most entertainment. From the thrilling roller coaster to the cannon launch, the menagerie of oddities and endless carnival games, everything had its price, but nothing too exorbitant, ofcourse! It was in the tent of Sayge the fortune teller that Killian found himself, scribbling away to produce the enchanted parchment and inks that the mystical gnoll-- a rarity himself, being one of very few gnolls (if not the only one) able to speak full common tongue-- required for his fortunes.
When Sayge wasnβt reading fortunes, Killian was reading tarot for those seeking deeper meaning in their lives, taught by the gnoll himself. The enchanter wore the deep purples, greens, yellows and whites of Darkmoonβs colors, but kept his face mostly hidden beneath a hood much like his mentor. When not relegated to cleaning tasks or any other menial grunt work, the enchanter kept to the mysticβs tent, but he couldnβt help glancing out at the guests of the faire, wondering and secretly wishing he could run off with them and slip through any of those portals to the world he remembered as a boy.
But Silas kept him there, a slave to a debt he could no longer remember incurring. Any infraction only adding more time, despite being veiled in riches and rewards of access to the worldβs most exotic artifacts and tomes from which heβd learned to hone his magical talents.
Killian held a small crate with various bottles of enchanted ink and parchment, ready to begin his day. Despite the wafting smells of fun, fried snacks, his mind was on those portals. What would happen if he were to leave? Silas would know, surely. But what would become of him? Killian had always been too afraid to find out, knowing what could happen to those on the Island who dissented and shirked their duties. The mage was snapped out of his thoughts when he bumped into someone, sending the crate toppling to the ground and scattering its contents.
βMy apologies!β he said, not wanting to ruin anybodyβs experience. That would bring grave consequences, as he well knew. The customerβs enjoyment was the top priority of every single carnie that worked the grounds. βI didnβt see where I was going, but do not fret! Perhaps for this small hiccup I could readΒ the fortunes the cards hold for you, free of charge!β
