“I have the most fun when I’m with you~~”
trying out a new pen
lots of baby gon + young mito and ging
some random headcanons
- Gon didn’t start speaking until he was around 3 years old. Before then he babbled, though mostly he was just an unusually quiet baby
- His first word was ‘puppy’ when he saw a wild dog and Mito practically bawled because she was the first one to hear it and was overjoyed.
- Gon tried to put everything he could get his hands on into his mouth
- Gon rarely cried, but after Ging left he cried for nearly a week before calming down. He has no memory of this.
A masterpost on Togashi’s gay subtext and why it’s intentional.
Hi ! After seeing so many posts about Togashi dropping subtext about Killua’s possible romantic feelings for Gon, I thought it’d be a good idea to make a sort of “masterpost” with all the subtext that Togashi has included into his work.
I usually see a lot of people trying to say that HxH isn’t about romance and that Togashi isn’t interested in writing romance into the manga, but when you analyze all the subtext that’s been going on the further Gon and Killua’s relationship progresses, I think it’s incorrect to say that Togashi has never hinted at the possibility of romance in HxH.
This is going to be a long post, enjoy your read!
Also, please note that I will only base this analysis on the manga, so there can be no mistake that “maybe this is just something the anime made gayer” : i want to prove that the subtext is 100% intentional on Togashi’s part.
I’d also like to mention, although I will analyze it further after listing the subtext, that Togashi is a VERY smart man. There’s always little details in the story and/or foreshadowing that are easily missed at first but when you notice them, it truly makes you understand how much attention and care Togashi puts into his work. The examples that talk to me the most, are the fact that Kite, having been killed by Pitou (a cat-liked chimera ant) was reborn with a mouse-like tail (Togashi is such a troll), and also the fact that Kurapika’s ties to the DC were hinted as far as in Yorknew Arc, where you can see him rocking his Kurta outfit with a Mobius stripe on it. Ofc, there are more examples, but I won’t dwell on it. In short, Togashi loves to foreshadow and plant little details into his work, so when Togashi plants subtext, I’m sure he 100% knows that he’s writing it, and it can’t be seen as unintentional.
I’ll also link all my references for this post at the end of it, so feel free to read all the additional textposts and content if you want to know more.
Well, let’s get into it!

GUYS….. GUYS omfg. guys. um. you know how i was saying that it’s very likely that Nanika healing things actually had a cost ? and that i was thinking she’s probably taking all the costs onto herself so Killua would be proud of her ?
well
healing tires her out.
what if it tires her out because she has to bear the cost alone?
daily reminder that Killua canonically sits like this
I think we all fear Killua’s reaction the moment he finds out about Gotoh’s death, because we’re all assuming it’ll lead to tragedy, pain, revenge and self-destruction. But I truly believe that when it happens, it’ll be with the purpose to directly parallel and contrast Kite’s death.
I like to think that when Killua finds out, he’ll be with Gon. Gon’s first instinct would be to crash into Killua, hug him, and never let go. Because he knows how it feels. He knows, he’s lived this exact situation before. He knows about the heartwrenching pain, the helplessness, the feeling of emptiness, the anger. He knows how lonely it feels. So he’d hold Killua close to him, and swear to never let him go.
It’d hurt. Killua would cry, be angry, swear he’ll kill Hisoka. Swear he’ll avenge Gotoh. But Gon wouldn’t let him. He’d never let him walk that path.
Because Gon has been there. He’s taken that path to revenge before, swearing he’ll avenge Kite no matter what. And he knows that if Killua swore to kill Hisoka, it’d be the same doomed path of revenge and self-destruction.
And that’s why it’d directly parallel Kite’s death. When Gon bottled up his feelings and didn’t let Killua in, Killua would openly accept Gon’s help. When Gon handled all the pain alone, this time they’d share the burden.
This time, they learned their lesson. Instead of shutting the other out and actively seeking revenge, it’d show letting in and acceptance. It’d show that Gon’s past actions were a self-destructive way of grieving, but that this is different. Because they both got each other. Killua isn’t alone, and they can do this together.
Killua doesn’t need to seek revenge and go down the same road Gon did, so Gon would try his best to help him and mend his broken heart with everything he has.
It’d demonstrate both their growth and a healthy way to deal with grief, and directly illustrate what could’ve happened if Gon let Killua in during Chimera Ant Arc.

You should enjoy the little detours. To the fullest. Because that’s where you’ll find the things more important than what you want.
— Thank you.
I know a lot of people think Gon will grow up to be muscular and tall but consider how fucking funny it would be if he remains the shortest. Also kurapika deserves this. Let him have this.
