why is one punch man so gaaaay: in the anime episode ending there was loads of symbolism: starts out with grief and difficulties (empty bedroom, empty streets and garbage lying about) and there’s the closed shop that means jealousy and hate will be a problem in the future. and the fact that everything is deserted?? it’s reminiscent of genos’ hometown. how he was ALL ALONE.
But then there’s CHERRY blossoms for new beginnings, and a little teddy bear that’s been broken at its arms and legs (totally a metaphor for Genos) then there’s the ivy and virginia bower vines which mean beauty and irritation:vines often make gardens look wild and uncared for but they bloom with white flowers. metaphor for genos being irritated by overwhelming feelings?? of love?? and it starts showing things in TWOs like the abandoned swings, deserted rail-tracks, star shaped leaves.
rain starts BUT YO THE TEDDY FROM BEFORE IS SHELTERED BY ANOTHER MUCH BIGGER BEAR THAT’S OBVIOUSLY SUPPOSED TO BE SAITAMA AND THEY GOT THEIR UMBRELLA AND ITS FREAKING ROMANTIC CUZ THEY’RE SHARING IT IN THE RAIN. SAITAMA PROTECTS GENOS FROM HIS OWN DOWNPOUR OF NEGATIVE EMOTIONS.
THEN THE SUN COMES OUT. AND ITS A METAPHOR FOR SAITAMA BEING THE LIGHT OF GENOS’ FUCKING LIFE AND THE FACT THAT EVERYTHING THAT’S BEEN SHOWN SO FAR IS IN CITY Z SCREAMS OF DOMESTICITY AND THE DESIRE TO HAVE A PLACE TO CALL HOME: I BET HE AND SAITAMA WENT ON THE BUS TOGETHER AND TO THE SHOP AND WALKED DOWN THE PATH WITH THE CITY IN THE BACKGROUND.
there was a close up of a waxing moon. you know what that means?? DEVELOPMENT. POSITIVE CHANGE. LOVE AND GOOD LUCK AND GROWTH. AND YOU KNOW SOMETHING? THE IDEA OF SHADOWS WAS DONE BEFORE WITH THE TWO STAR SHAPED LEAVES. TWO. LIKE TWO PEOPLE. so yeah after the moon it’s saitama’s balcony: and the LIGHT COMES ON HE’S THE FUCKING LIGHT AND MOON OF GENOS’ LIFE.
and you know something. that fucking cat. it was there just before the rain started (and aren’t cats supposed to hate saitama?) and it shows up again and watches from afar on the balcony while saitama and genos are being domestic little shits inside the living room. and i totally think the cats in the series are supposed to represent genos’ feelings towards saitama.
saitama tries to reach out to them: but they don’t like his simplistic, direct approach. AND YET THEY KEEP A WATCH OVER HIM. THEY LIKE HIM BUT THEY ARE BEING FUCKING TSUNDERES LIKE GENOS IS. and did you know? a dream about shopping means the dreamer is supposed to spend time with people, and that when they had the dream they were HAPPY. GENOS IS FUCKING HAPPY AND SAITAMA IS HIS BIG BEAR PROTECTING HIM FROM THE RAIN, HE BROUGHT LIGHT AND HAPPINESS INTO GENOS’ LIFE AND HE WANTS SAITAMA TO COME HOME BUT EVEN THEN, HE’LL WATCH FROM AFAR LIKE THAT DAMN CAT. SO FAR AND YET SO CLOSE.
IN CONCLUSION: ONE PUNCH MAN ENDING SONG AND ANIMATION IS FUCKING GAY AS HELL
