How many times can the same thing break your heart?
One of the most challenging things I’ve had to learn is that healing must be intentional. There is no one golden day that comes and saves you from all your misery. Healing is a practice. You have to decide that it’s what you want to do and actively do it. You have to make a habit out of it. Once I learned that, I only looked back to see how far I came.
I no longer force things. what flows flows, what crashes, crashes. I only have space and energy for things that are meant for me.
Heartbreak has to be taken a moment at a time. Eventually, there will be more good moments than unbearable ones in a day, and then you’ll know you’ve turned the corner into a new road.
When you’re in the middle of sobbing and you start dissociating so you’re like “okay I’m done now” and turn into an emotionless zombie
