I understand your point, however this maybe wasn't the best post to cross my dash while I'm fighting the temptation to text my ex.

Cats getting caught doing crimes
it takes quite a bit of social intelligence for a creature to understand:
I know what I am doing is wrong
I know there is an activity that looks similar that is not wrong
If I am quick I can plausibly pass one off as the other
these cats are displaying remarkable theory of mind skills by not only registering that the humans can perceive them but actively trying to manipulate that perception! that requires one to be aware that other individuals have complicated interior thoughts of their own, to know that those thoughts are not always based on truth, and to quickly decide on the best possible “lie” for the situation. this is why I despise animal intelligence tasks based on obedience— some of the most clever moments stem from intelligent disobedience.
being a scavenger animal must be so fucking great. imagine if every time someone died a new restaurant opened up downtown.
yes
Why's there a sliced salmon in the background?

wore my thigh high boots on a walk today and we had to take a path through some long grass and while everyone else was rolling their pants into their socks and putting on jackets to protect themselves from ticks i was standing there smug as hell in my thigh high leather boots.
a hoe never gets lyme disease
this is problematic of me (joke) but i really enjoy the splashing of french into english speech or writing. just adds a pizzazz
*adds a certain je ne sais quoi
see the problem is that despite around 8 years of french schooling the french language has utterly escaped my brain so even the most obvious set up i had created for myself by accident was missed by me. such is life.
*c'est la vie
god damn it

My roommate thought she hated cooking and then she moved in with me and started using knives that were actually sharp and realized cooking is fun. Sometimes I wonder how many other situations are like this. It's not you, or your skills. It's just the lack of correct tools. Everyone knows you need a knife in the kitchen but no one mentions a sharpening stone.
Also you should probably sharpen your knife.
Speaking less metaphorically I literally do wonder how many people would realize Cooking Doesn't Suck if only they had sharper knives. Cutting vegetables is not supposed to be a workout. You're not supposed to apply force when you press down. If you have to force the knife down then the knife is dull! This is a fixable problem!
You can only reblog this today! Next time Thursday 20 will follow Wednesday 19 will be in 2439!

ROBERT PATTINSON as MICKEY BARNES Mickey 17 (2025) Dir. Bong Joon-Ho
He’s so fucking pathetic I NEED him
i second that
need to string together my thoughts more on this but reeeeeally interesting to see the influx of media - severance, the substance, mickey 17 - centered on the idea of a double/expendable iteration of yourself.
the dehumanization of workers by the way of non-livable wages, unsafe working conditions, and identity based discrimination (and the current removal of dei initiatives), all drive a wedge between our personhood and the value we are prescribed as a member of the workforce. something something the effects of ai and deepfakes already putting people in danger, the way we live and present our lives online vs in reality, there’s a lot to unpack here. but it’s fascinating to see this trope so widely translated as a storytelling vehicle for these ideas, and that this is the story that people are interested in telling.
The movie Companion is also part of this. I watched both Mickey 17 and Companion with my 17 year old nephew and the kid was so angry about the disregard of Mickey's and Iris' emotions because they don't matter/aren't "real."
As he said "It doesn't matter if they're just going to reprint him or if they've just coded her emotions. They still FEEL the emotions. Those fucking bastards! How can they treat other people that shitty?!
Thinking about how Anakin canonically both touched grass and got laid and was still Like That.
