“No, you can stay here. It would actually be nice if you did.”

“Kind of late to be hanging out alone on the beach, don’t you think?”

“Yeah, but it’s the perfect time to think.” She replied to Jacob.

Renesmee sat alone on the beach. She missed the quietness that use to be Forks before all these vampires came around. She was just drawing figures in the sand not paying attention to anyone.

Jacob cracked a smile. “I want to.” Now his cheeks were turning red. Her lips were as just as soft as he imagined. Climbing back onto his bike, he tugged the jacket around her better. “Will do. Now get inside before your dad comes out here and asks what’s going on.”

“Okay, okay.” Renesmee replied heading towards the cottage, she knew that she would have to take a shower before heading to see her family since they always commented on the wet dog smell when she didn’t.

He pulled up towards the back of the house. Killing the engine, he looked at the home he came to know just as much as his own before climbing off of the bike, and offering his hand to Nessie. “So,” He shuffled a bit. “I guess I’ll be seeing you later?”

Renesmee took his hand as she got off the bike. “Only if you want to.” She smiled. Before Renesmee went inside for the night she went up on her tip toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Stay safe, and text me when you get home.” With all the vampires around Renesmee was worried that one might try to hurt Jacob.

“I’m always right.” Jacob teased, resting his hand over hers as they clutched onto him. Just on the horizon, through the trees, he could see the Cullen house. Rather then speed up, he slowed down just a little bit. Only delaying the inevitable.  

Renesmee saw the main house, and was a little sad since she knew soon enough she would have to say goodbye to Jacob for who knows how long. Since with school and all the vampires her family kept a tight watch on the girl, and she had to spend most of her free time at home.

Jake’s response was to reach back with the hand that wasn’t holding the throttle, and touch the side of Nessie’s leg. “I wish.” His words were soft, but he knew she could hear him. “We’ll have more moments like this that feel like forever.”

“I hope you are right.” Renesmee pulled herself closer to Jacob, and rested her head on his shoulder. Renesmee felt so safe and at peace right now. It was like only her and Jacob existed in the world. No vampires, no war, nothing to hurt them.

It wasn’t going to be the fastest trip ever. He planned on taking the more scenic route just to give them some more time together. He doubted that she would really mind. The only people he was worried about getting bent over it were her parents. Specially with her hanging onto him on his bike. 

Renesmee loved the beauty of Forks, the only thing that could make it more beautiful was Jacob. Before they left she sent a text to her mom saying that Jacob was going to take her home. “Can we just stay like this forever?” She asked him. Renesmee would not mind riding around these toads with Jacob for hours.

Jake wasn’t ready for her to go either. Still, he knew she’d have to go back. Unless he wanted the Cullen’s swarming all over the rez looking for her. “One day, if you still feel this strongly about me, you won’t have to leave. You could just stay right here, with me.” That day would come eventually, but for now she had school. Grabbing a spare helmet, he took her hand into his. “Come on, sleepyhead.”

Renesmee knew that day wouldn’t come for a long time, not because of her feelings, but because of her parents. She knew that it would be years, maybe even decades before her parents let her leave for a while. And she knew she wasn’t quite ready to leave them yet either. Renesmee went over to his bike and put on the helmet. She then wrapped her around around Jacob after getting on.

“Of course. I just figured you’d like hearing it.” Jake said with a small shrug of his shoulders before heading into his bedroom. He still stayed in his old room. Even though his father had been gone for some time he just couldn’t bring himself to move into his room. Grabbing his old jean jacket, he tossed it over his shoulder before walking back to Nessie, and gently placing it across hers. “You ready?”

Renesmee hugged the jacket close to her. “No, but I’m never ready to leave you.” She replied. “But I have to go home, unfortunately.” Renesmee wouldn’t mind staying at Jacob’s forever, she just loved being around him. The young hybrid yawned, she was starting to get tired and had some homework to finish up.

“I promise. No more hiding. Come over whenever you want, okay? My place is your place.” A small peck to her forehead, and he set her free. “Sounds good to me. Let me go get you my jacket. It’s a little cold out.”

“Hasn’t it always been?” She asked with a smile. Renesmee liked coming to La Push since she was able to be around other people who weren’t just her family. “Yeah.” Renesmee didn’t get cold that much because of her high body heat, but she liked the smell of Jacob. And loved when she got a jacket or sweatshirt from him.

“Same reason you are such a cutie.” It was a struggle to let her go. Letting her slip out of his arms, still, his pinkie hooked onto a piece of her clothing just to keep her a little close. “Right. So, do you want to walk or do you want to ride my bike?”

“Promise me that we will see each other soon. I don’t think I can go a week without seeing my shapeshifter best friend.” The girl replied with a smile.”Since it’s getting late, I think your bike might be best.” Also Renesmee would get to wrap her arms around Jacob.

“You’d hit me, and I would just laugh.” He rolled his eyes, and faintly said under his breath. “or kiss you.” He couldn’t get the thought out of his head. Kissing her. What her lips felt like against his. Her scent. Everything was warping his mind. “..I should probably get you home.”

“Why are you such a meanie.” Renesmee teased. Renesmee heard the second part since hybrids had good hearing, but she was going to pretend she didn’t hear it. Renesmee looked down at her phone. “Yeah, we don’t want my mom screaming on the border to bring me home.” She laughed.

“Is that so? Talk big game for such a little girl.” He smiled back, playfully tickling her side. A good way of distracting her, and himself, though that seemed nearly impossible to do now. She was in his head more then ever now. “So that’s one of the signs I will have to look for now, huh?” 

“I might be little, but I pack a punch.” She replied. “Don’t underestimate the little people.” She added. Renesmee knew that it would be harder to hide her thoughts about Jacob from her father since he was so much of what she already though about. “Well you are the first guy that I lost my hunger too, so I guess you are the cutest guy here.”

“I’d like to see you try, Nessie.” He sneaked in another quick kiss to her cheek. Still as many as he could before she’d have to return home. “Mhm, sure.” It wasn’t until he drew his head back did he realize he had his arm around her waist. Looking from his arm to her fridge, he laughed a little. “I take it you aren’t hungry anymore?”

“Oh you will. Then you will be on your knees begging me to show you mercy.” The girl joked smiling brightly. Renesmee didn’t want to go home tonight, she was enjoying Jacob’s company way too much. She hated that now that she went to school she had less time to spend with him. “What can I say, I lose my appetite whenever I’m around a cute boy.” She flirted.

“Wait a second, did you just say I was faster? Wow, now you are just trying to suck up to me.” Seeing that highlight of pink across her cheek just made his heart jump. “Pft, please. Don’t even try to argue with me.” Maybe being around her wasn’t the best idea when she was with someone else, but it wasn’t like he could stop seeing her. He’d go insane or at least he’d make the Cullen’s go insane with constant phone calls. 

“You are faster than most vampires Jake, I can’t deny that. That doesn’t mean I can’t kick your ass still.” She replied sticking out her tongue playfully. “I’m not arguing I’m stating an honest fact.” The girl told him. Renesmee had no idea how her family or the rest of the vampire world would react to her and Jacob if they ever got together, but for once she didn’t care about anyone’s opinion. If her and Jacob ever got together, no one’s opinion would matter to her.
