This episode is part 2 of the conversation on burnout that we're having with Sanika Tillway, a burnout management coach.
In this episode we look at really identifying what burnout can look like in our lives and ways in which we can take care of ourselves once we reach that point.
Below are links to the scales mentioned in the podcast:
Maslach Burnout Inventory: https://bit.ly/TheMaslachBurnoutInventory
Perceived Stress Scale: https://bit.ly/ThePerceivedStressScale
Both are self-report questionnaires so they can be scored by the individual taking the test themselves.
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.
Sounds relatable? If you were NOT burnt out, especially in 2020, consider yourself blessed, because it felt like everyone we spoke to expressed some sort of burn out. For some, the burnout eased out, while for others, they are still in a state of burnout.
In this episode, I speak to the expert on this topic - Sanika Tillway, who is a Burnout Management Coach. This episode in particular talks about what burnout is, why it’s so important, and the importance of having boundaries in place.
And because there's sooo much more to cover on this topic, we will continue this over the next episode, which will be released soon as well!

Includes a quote by our Founder.
Cultural Empathy is important. We’re exposed to so many cultures these days that it’s important to be mindful and be kind to each other. We need to keep space for each other’s cultures as that’s a beautiful way to grow. Tyesha Kohli and I discuss navigating through foreign cultures, our tough times, and moments that pulled us through. Curiosity is incredibly important for growth, as you'll see being covered in this episode. If you liked this episode, don't forget to give us a good rating and follow us for more! Listen to this episode from Simply Be Kind on Spotify. Let’s be honest, rejection can be hard. It doesn’t matter if it’s the big kind (not getting that job that was so right for you) or less significant (someone not holding open the lift door). It hurt our feelings, our self-esteem takes a hit, and it unsettles our feeling of belonging. But there are ways we can handle it so that the fear of rejection doesn’t stop us from putting ourselves out there and achieving success. And that’s exactly what this episode is about. Listen to this conversation with Anupriya Gaur where we discuss handling rejection, as well as some actionable points on how to be kind to yourself during daunting times.
