send ⛓️ to find my muse bloody, bruised and restrained
//hey sorry its been a while had to do something rq
send 🔥 + a spicy question for my muse.
this could be a question about their kinks, about fantasies, about preferences etc.
Scarecrow | Jonathan Crane
Name ten female characters you like, you get zapped if it's jsut a male character you call a babygirl or other feminine nicknames because I can't see people calling Lestat coquette again
I don’t think I want to revive a Christmas card from Jonathan Crane, not after reading this issue…
Batman #457 || Scanned at 300dpi
I think the most understated part of this is the last two panels:
“Wearing a mask often changes the wearer’s personality — allows acts normally taboo.”
All four of these panels are Jonathan Crane during the Fear State run. From a brown haired, put together main to a mousy little redhead academic to a grungy and grimy ginger - to the Scarecrow. He alternates between all of these, with the text bubbles changing each time, like a shapeshifter wearing different masks.
The mask is an integral part of not only Batman’s character but also most if not all the characters within Batman - even characters who don’t technically wear a mask have a cognitive dissonance between what they show the outside world and what is underneath.
Crane is ruled by fear. Scarecrow weaponizes it. Crane is logical and rational about his acts. Scarecrow is emotional and impulsive. They are two distinct personalities aware of each other and the world around them, and no matter how much they pretend to be sane and unaffected, they aren’t.
Crane feels naked without a mask. He has immersed himself fully in it, can’t talk properly to Batman without it. This goes beyond a quirk. This is a part of him that shows how deep his insanity runs. Keep in mind a lot of people with mental illness don’t believe they are mentally ill, and someone with, say, a degree in psychology, could easily mask most symptoms. Even I masked so well my psychiatrist and therapist didn’t even realize I had BPD until recently when I was diagnosed.
Crane’s reverence of the mask is him revering his plausible deniability - the mask is what changes my personality, not my illness.
And I think that’s very fun.
Something you gotta understand about me is that I am utterly reliant on my Beverages
@brokentoys said: "You gotta be CAREFUL. If I were there, I could've told you that!!!"
"Oh, be careful? My word, why didn't I think of that! How stupid I must have been!"
@cursedcorn said: "I demand a raise."
"I don't even have the ability to argue or make a joke. Tell me what I must do to thank you."
So I try out a new batch of Fear Toxin and instead of feeling anything, I fall into a coma for over a year. What have I missed? What's been happening in Gotham? Thank God I had contingency plans for this, and people to care for Rosa and Poe.
the most aggravating fans are the ones that become huge fans of a villainous character but just can’t handle the fact that the villainous character does villainous things and instead said fans invent a million assbackwards headcanons about how the villain is TOTALLY not a villain at all and is some tragic blob where nothing is their fault even up to and including murder and genocide
i am just so baffled by this
Give my Muse a kiss on Anon, but leave them hints as to who it was from!
//it’s midnight, February 12th. Happy 25th bday to me
“In case any of you were wondering, I have no reason to watch the Super Bowl this year, as - unsurprisingly - the Panthers did not make it. It’s hard to be a fan of such a dogshit team. That said, I am a dedicated hater, so I will be rooting for the Eagles, if only because I think it would be quite funny for the Chiefs to come so close to making NFL history with a 3-peat, and choke at the last minute.”
reblog if it's okay for people to mention your muse(s) in their threads!
//happy munday, darlings
