Unique Agere Writing Prompts, Part 5

CG is very poor and kiddo is very rich. Perks of being kiddo’s CG include square meals and showers - a fact that becomes increasingly obvious when CG’s “check-ins” become more frequent.

Kiddo is actually a biological kiddo … they’re just regressing smaller.

Kiddo’s comfort object isn’t a toy. It’s just … a doorstop. Or a pan. Or a specific pen.

CG can’t (or doesn’t) speak. Yet, they manage to communicate exactly how the cow ate the cabbage to their kid.

Kiddo’s regression style and CG’s parenting style are mismatched - e.g., one wants lots of rules to keep their brattiness in check, and one prefers to be a hands-off sitter. How does this play out, and are they compatible?

Kiddo tries to bring something from their childhood into their regression … and finds it triggers unpleasant memories.

CGs that snap into their headspaces as dramatically as a kiddo snaps into theirs. What happens when a protective mama bear won’t hear sense?

Kiddo plays differently than CG thinks they “should.”

CG sucks at playing with their kiddo, full stop.

Littles Are Known (or not) - CG actually works in an (agere) daycare, and their spouse represses their own headspace to save their CG from doing more work.

Kiddo is broiling with jealousy when CG hangs out with other little friends. Maybe a playdate will fix it?

Animal character regression - think Warrior Cats, Scooby Doo, Pokémon, Lion King, etc. What did childhood look like for those creatures?

CG was a parent … in a past life. Kiddo brings it out in them, and maybe starts questioning why they’re so good at it.

When Kiddo regresses, the thing they’re most skilled at is hindered. If their identity is tied strongly to it, how does it make them feel?

Kiddo dreams up their perfect agere day, and sets out to make it happen. (Bonus points if chaos ensues).

Kiddo introduces a friend to agere. How would a seasoned regressor and a newbie interact?

Kiddo is slowly growing out of their regression, and CG has lots of feelings about it.

whats the appeal u feel towards regressors?

not to sound like broken records but after my last relationship with my partner/cg its been hard for me to imagine that theres really any real appeal to us regressors?

considering we often have much more needs wanting to be met it can often feel unbalanced between the two so i wonder if that in itself is appealing or... idk! in a healthy relationship both people would put in work to show love and affection and growth but i guess my attempts werent taken as seriously bc they came off as more childish? its still a very real and genuine effort... how do u caregivers feel about this? what draws u in to age regressors knowing its "more work" than a typical relationship and r u ok with never quite experiencing "normal" relationship things?

I’m a flip, so I’ll give both sides!

Why I would love caring for someone as a CG:

Seeing someone you care about light up with delight about anything ever is literally the best feeling

I love to feed people! So when someone asks me for specific food I get SO excited

I’m a teacher by nature and I love to instruct and encourage everything from injuries to math worksheets

Spoiling people I love is SOOOO FUN!!! 😍 my kid is gonna break my bank lol

I work really well with routines so helping you through yours is super satisfying and cathartic

I’m not afraid of big feelings or bodily needs and in fact I’d be delighted you trusted me to help you work through them

What my CG (husband) has said about my regression

Having a genuine interest in childhood things makes you that much more trustworthy and relatable in a child’s life should you ever assume a significant role

He likes to spoil me too! His love language is gift giving.

When I’m happy I wiggle and dance and stim, and he thinks it’s super endearing

One of the ways he helps me heal is by fighting big scary lies I tell myself when I’m small with simple truths

I’m a well-informed and functional adult who keeps my home, tends my pets, and has a steady job. I can do WHATEVER I WANT in my free time!

It makes him happy to know I trust him so completely when I’m most vulnerable :)

There are SO MANY worse things you could be doing with your time than playing with toys and watching movies 😅

And above all:

No matter who on earth loves you or doesn’t, Jesus loves EVERY part of you! You matter so much to Him (and me!!) :)

(p.s. your CG should always be someone you know and trust in real life. it’s not safe to find a CG online, even if others have!)

age regression and being comfy with ur masculinity!

shaving - yeah you could shave so you feel cuter and ur family tells you that you should ("ur facial hairs getting longer!") but... no thanks! i like seeing my facial hair when im small! looking in the mirror with a paci on amidst a mustache and beard make me feel even smaller! nothing wrong with that ^^ (and plus... theres always trimming)

clothing - cutesy pastel clothes are indeed, very cute, but not the only option! they help with feeling age appropriate and straight out of a little one's clothing catalogue but.... what about a plain muscle tank top and shorts :P ! nothing fancy but if theyre especially soft it'll leave me feeling like the cutest little man around!

a deep voice - lots of people talk of a "baby voice" or a "regression voice" sometimes it comes to you naturally but sometimes you just cant uncover it no matter how hard you try! being regressed and hearing your default tone is great! a reminder that "of course ur a baby! even naturally i can hear the playfulness and regression behind it!"

being tall(er)- i think most of us secretly wish we were itty bitty physically but being tall kinda makes you fall into regression even harder! people out and about will look up at you and assume ur some big guy but if ur anything like me... they'll think its cute to find our ur shy and timid! people will pick up on that and treat you gentler (idk about you but that always makes me feel small... being treated softly by strangers or acquaintances)

bit of a side tangent on that one ^ but i love when that happens! as i've mentioned my mom is a kindergarten teacher and i loooove to help set up the classroom at the beginning of the year! she always tells her coworkers that im not talkative and shy and its so validating to be treated like a little guy!! like one time her and her coworkers were talking about me while i was like 20 feet away from them! i looked over and they saw me and one of them said "yes sweetie we're talking about you".... bwah!!! instantly small!!!

i'll have to think of more (these were the biggest ones i could think of atm) but i hope you know masculinity and regression can go hand in hand and compliment eachother! theres nothing gross or not cutesy about you just because you dont reflect all of the themes and attributes we so often give age regression! whether you fit the age regression "look" or are the furthest thing from it... you are still the cutest baby around! yes, you!
