Its raining hard and the power is out. Lets push the couches together, cover them with blankets and get in. We'll watch videos on my phone. Horror stories and creepypasta and scp. It doesn't matter. I'm still a better killer. We'll eat cheezits straight from the box because there's no point in pouring it in a bowl.
I'll eat dry ramen, the square packet one, and you'll judge me for it. We can't use the microwave with no power and I prefer crunchy noodles anyways. When you flinch at the thunder, I'll laugh at you but at the same time hold you tighter. When we get bored of the videos, we'll go play in the rain. Or I'll play in the rain while you stand by the door and list why this is a bad idea. Of course I won't listen to you. I'll enjoy the cold rain before heading back inside with you.
After a shower in the dark (lots of slipping and lots of cursing), I'll return to the blanket fort to find you sleeping. I'll adjust the headless plushie I gifted you and make sure you're okay. Then I'll take a nap too.
When we wake up, the power will be back on, the storm will be gone, and you won't have to be afraid.
