i understand that JL have a big drop in BO number due to hardcore fans are disappointed and thus do not desire to go watch it again and have no good word of mouth, this does not exactly explain on why JL is having a low opening number compare to the previous dc movie given that the JL review are only out 1 day before the premiere. Is it really because of reception of MoS and BvS or is it most likely because of there are way too many superhero film already out that GA started to lose interest?

It’s because for a week before JL there were advanced screenings and basically everyone was saying how different it is and how apparent the reshoots were. I went the tuesday before premiere and I did not like it so I didnt see it again. I know quite a few people that saw an advanced screening so it ended up just being a word of mouth thing. Only a few days after that:

the petition for zack snyder’s cut went live and gained lots of signatures

the deleted scenes got leaked

vfx people leaked more info about the original cut (such the villain details etc)

And with the reviews that came out right before the premiere, it just amounted to too much and people didn’t go. GA WOULD show up to a justice league movie but it had such negative word of mouth that people didn’t. It shows the impact of the fans, and how WB messed with that by lying about the movie this entire time.

I'm so disappointed with mark hughes in regards to his suggestion of DCEU need to reboot. He said it is the best solution for DC since all their film except wonder woman is underperform at BO and the critical reception is negative to mixed. Sigh... I thought he is the big DCEU supporter. I can't believe it he said something like that when every DC film actually earn quite a lot of money and DVD sales. Just that people put too much expectations into thinking each DC film should be crack a billion

We all flocked to him when BvS came out because he was one of the critics that rated it positively and we needed that at the time. But since then, I realized that tbh? He isn’t shit. He really isn’t as connected to this as us and is looking at this only from a BO/critic perspective, which is the exact thing WB did and made JL flop.

I hated his article saying that critics actually love Zack more than fans do because his earlier movies were rated fresh but us fans didn’t show up to those movies. Firstly, a critic who sees the movie once and rates is nicely does not mean s/he like Zack more than us fans, who watch this movies constantly and discuss them constantly. Secondly, a lot of his fans became fans because of the dceu, and he and those supporting the article said that those weren’t “true” fans because of that (ie, they didn’t see/know of his earlier work before the DCEU, so how are they bigger fans than the critics?). This is stupid because the dceu at this point has been a quarter of his movie making career. He has been building this universe for more than 5 years, and his first movie debuted in 2005. So yes, of course a lot of his fans are new from the dceu. Hell that was me, even though I did see and love 300 and Sucker Punch before. I don’t think that just because people became a fan of him after MoS they’re “lesser” fans. That’s dumb as fuck. I was literally an early teen when 300 came out, there was no way I was gonna see that in the theater lol. But I guarantee I’m a bigger Snyder fan than every critic that rated those movies fresh combined. We all are.

He also tried to add to that “dceu fandom is toxic” mentality because a few people told him he was anti dceu. Dude, it’s just a few people and it’s not an insult so chill. Meanwhile, I had people literally get on my posts and tweets every day to tell me that my opinion was wrong, that I’m misogynistic, that I’m stupid for even making the post. I’ve been called bitch and cunt (OVER A MOVIE). On twitter, i’ve had people who don’t even follow me find me to just provoke me by saying that I’m stupid and such for even liking that movie. That was for literally a year, and it goes on even now. Meanwhile he gets a few tweets once and he acts like a victim? Bye.

And finally, he’s honestly not that smart. His articles are awful (he spends way too many words to communicate a braindead idea) and all he cares about at the end of the day is the money. Did this make enough money or not? Did the critics respond well? Etc etc. Yes, this movie did badly but we must just move on. MCU moved on after thor 2 or iron man 2 or whatever, which were /okay/. We moved on after suicide squad (even have a sequel). We just move on. Rebooting it with flashpoint is a stupid fucking idea and just sets the universe back even more. But all he cares about are the numbers.

He was never someone we should’ve paid attention to, to be honest. And his recent antics have only further cemented that for me. Just ignore him.
