Welcome! I'm Tuiliel (or you can call me Lily). My posts and reblogs are usually related to witchcraft, paganism, nature photos, or fantasy art and fae aesthetic. I'll put some of my more common tags below.

More about my specific paganism and witchcraft under the cut.
If you wanna contribute to my deck or book collection, I have a wishlist here.
And, if you're interested - here is my BPAL Review Masterlist.
I've been practicing some form of paganism and witchcraft for more than 20 years at this point, and my practice has wandered around a bit, but I've settled into devotional polytheistic paganism. I mainly interact with the Tuatha Dé and the Vanir and the Fair Folk, though I do keep a shrine to Kemetic deities, and have relationships with several Welsh and Greek deities, and I try to at least have pleasant cordiality with anyone else I encounter.
My witchcraft is very hedgewitchy, focused half on the Otherworlds (Fairy especially) and half on my hyperlocal area, emphasis on spiritwork but also lots of plant and candle magic.
I prefer the term faeborn over otherkin or alterhuman but generally yeah I fall under those umbrellas and it is hard to currently be incarnate as human.
I also run the following e-shrines, though none of them are updated more than once in a while:
@eyes-of-ra : Bast and Sekhmet, and Kemeticism as a whole
@nic-flidais : Flidais and her Daughters - mostly aesthetic/Vibes™️ because there's not a lot written about them
@vanadottir : the Vanir and associated beings (some alfar, some Vanir-by-marriage), heathenry in general
@bright-and-cold : Hela and her family
@queens-of-sovereignty : fairy queens, mostly Irish but also a few Welsh and a few that are UPG - this is almost entirely an aesthetic/Vibes™️ blog
@athena-columbia : the local cultus aspect of Athena as patroness of Washington DC, and the federal government of the United States
@thrudvangr : Thor, made as part of a petition and mostly an archive at this point
Still mostly on hiatus, but here's how you can help
Well. I was hoping things with the divorce and my health would ease up, but in fact the opposite has happened, so I'm still mostly on hiatus. My website needs migrating again, as I've downsized it, and I'm going to go back to just having things on storevny instead of a woocommerce, because I do not know how long it's going to be until I can do the sort of volume of work it would require to make that not cost me more than I'm making. The etsy shop is currently on vacation as well, and at this point besides people generously donating here so that I can pay for the cheaper version of the website while I'm not doing much work, the only income I have is from a few divination regulars, because I'm still doing readings directly via email/paypal if you're willing to wait on longer turn times. I'm slow at the moment, and just a mess in general, but I am hoping by Samhain I'll be divorced and settled somewhere in Maryland and finally resting enough to get out of burnout and get my health back to my still-disabled-but-also-functional baseline. And then hopefully I can get the business back up and running again (with divination/jewelry/healing and maybe classes) approx Spring 2027. But that's a Best Laid Plan, so we'll see if it goes aglay, hmm?
In the meantime, if you'd like to help me stay afloat, here's what you can do:
Set up a recurring donation on Patreon where I'll be posting semi-regular updates
Make a one-time donation on Spotfund
Share either of those with people you think might be interested in/capable of donating
Send me an email to request a reading (if you're willing to wait a week or more)
Light a candle for me and/or address prayers to one of the following deities: The Morrigan, Be Chuille, Flidais, The Dagda, Lugh, Freyja, Heimdallr, Njord, Nerthus, the Norns, Bast, Sekhmet, or Apollo
I appreciate everyone here so much, and I am so thankful for everyone's patience and good wishes!
hi, asking, because I can't find many resources on this:
What's with starseed community? I've heard that it is problematic and I also saw that some state it is a Nazi thing.
Do you have any info (and resources) on what is going on with this community and why is this problematic?
Boy, I admit I don't have much in the way of resources onhand for that specifically; it's a bit out of my scope. I probably can't tell you anything Google can't. It sums up to, starseeds are a New Age concept proposing that certain people are extraterrestrial souls sent to Earth to guide humanity to some kind of ascension. It purports that certain people are born inherently "higher" while others are more "primitive" spiritually speaking, which is already a pretty yikes concept even before you get into the history of this movement and ones like it being deeply steeped in racism and eugenics. Suspiciously, whenever you see physical descriptions of these "higher races," the ones who aren't just bog-standard "greys" always seem to be pale-skinned and often blonde, at least from what I've seen (Pleiadians, one of the most well-known and "highest" races, are literally described as "Nordic aliens" or "indistinguishable from Nordic people").
It's also heavily linked to the idea of aliens "seeding" earth in the past, which is itself a concept steeped in racism and the ideas that a) different peoples are literally different species (some of which are of course "higher" than others) and b) historical people of color of course couldn't actually accomplish anything impressive or significant, it must have been aliens. It's also linked to the idea that Someday Soon™ there will be a great purge, I mean ascension, where the enlightened and spiritual starseeds will rise to a New Earth and everyone else will be left behind (which doesn't sound like the Rapture or like every dream of the Grand Revolution which conveniently doesn't care how many people it leaves behind or kills in the process of creating its new dream).
So. yeah. There's more to it, but that's about all I know off the top of my head and with minimal research (all of which comes up in the first few links of google results for various starseed-related searches). I don't really have any spectacular resources that have all this information in one place, but it's not hard to turn up with a little searching.
Tl;dr, the big difference between starseeds and otherkin and the reason one is kind of problematic and the other isn't is that otherkin aren't generally claiming to be "Nordic aliens" sent to "guide humanity to ascension".
Both the Stareseed and Indigo/Crystal/Rainbow/whatever Child movements were also ways for a particular type of middle class suburban parent to lable their very clearly autistic child. It was like the Changeling myth, almost, but in a more "benevolent" new age way.
No of *course* my child isn't autistic, they are a special new form of humanity meant to lead us to a higher state of being ect ect ect
And the two communities, while perhaps starting separate (I don't actually know) did at least definitely become intertwined.
also a lot of overlap with “earth angels” (distinct from angelkin).
and yeah it’s very frequently both white supremecist and ableist. Physical “signs” of bei g a starseed/indigo child/earth angel are often being blonde, having blue eyes, being pale, being very empathetic, being very passive, facing persistent cruelty, and being able to easily “read rooms/intentions”. You might notice that these might also raise red flags for a kid being abused.
often comes with a lore background of being an alien or future being or spirit inhabiting a human body for the purpose of protecting/saving/educating/guiding humanity. They’re seen as paragons of kindness, gentility, and virtue. This often leads adults around them who believe this shit to outsource morality and decision making, use kids to vent to, and punish them for failing at these things.
adults who believe theyre one of these archetypes often have a savior/superiority complex around it and see themselves as above those around them.
i fucking hate these concepts/communities with a passion. I dont think theres any healthy way to engage with them.
Most of this is good which is why I chose to reblog this far down the chain rather than directly from Rani, but I wanted to pick on one thing a little bit:
otherkin aren't generally claiming to be "Nordic aliens" sent to "guide humanity to ascension".
Not the first part, but the second part -- here to spiritually guide humanity in some way, reunite this world and the otherworld, or variations on that theme -- has definitely been put forth both by individuals about themselves and as a theory about otherkin as a whole.
I think what I love most about mythology is that the “Trickster God/Spirit” is an archetypical character found in almost every body of folklore. It’s like “Oh, here’s our God of the Sun, our God of the Sea, our God of Fertility, and our God of Being A Wretched Little Gremlin Who Causes Problems On Purpose”
when i was a kid, we had this variety of bleeding heart plant growing in our yard:
i thought they looked like translucent fairies wearing poofy pants. i was recently reminded of this & wanted to make a translucent fairy in poofy pants.
i love how the transparent parts turned out and absolutely want to experiment more with this technique. i printed the inner skeletal parts as normal, and then printed a one-walled shell with no infill out of transparent filament. i cut the shell open in the back and slid the skeleton inside. the outer layer of the head doesn't have eyes sockets, which makes the eyes hazy.
for the head & back frills i printed a one-layer sheet out of the same filament, cut the shapes out of that, and bent it into shape using a heat gun and hot glue.

looking it up, apparently this was an artist who made signs like this to parody the actual city council's signage, just told apart by his logo in the corner, "christchurch city confusion", and they had locals rly confused for a bit. my favorite is this one!
