Greetings! I found a post from a while back that you made about automating control of your Tremblr. I have been considering purchasing either a Venus or Tremblr and was hoping you could give your opinion on the two. Is the Venus worth the extra $? I'm not really planning on automating it, just want something that I'm going to be happy with. One thing I did notice is that the Tremblr is capped at about half the speed of the Venus, have you found that to matter? Thank you so much!

The unhelpful answer is... the Venus is better but not as much better as the price difference... The Tremblr will pretty much give you no problems and do the job just fine. The Venus however is just generally higher quality under the hood... but not in any way that affects the normal usage. The upshot is... buy the Venus if money is not a factor, but the tremblr is ultimately better “value for money”

I have a question for you- you may have been asked a thousand times over. But I have to ask anyway. The Venus 2000 Rehash- 1) any updates? 2) It it still working? 3) are you developing this to sell as a kit, or share the knowledge for others to use? Thanks, Matt

Hi, yea its an older project, yes it still works.  No I don’t have the setup to make it into anything commercial, Im happy to help others but they would some technical knowledge to give it a go.

- would it work with an esp8266 (powerful enough?) and 315mhz rf emitter only (as it will talk with existing receiver I think) instead of spark photon/arduino and rf paired Tx+Rx ? Just for understanding, cost is not a concern here.- I have read that genuine speed control has 16 levels (up to 180 strokes/minute). For suction, (as you have had a look inside...), I think it is set with a peristaltic micro pump (right?). But then, there are no steps/levels ? And how are vacuum/pressure limited? ...

1) Yes it should work with any board, I just tend to use the Photon mostly.

2) You need the receiver only initially to actually read the codes from your original remote, I believe they make 5 code variants of the remote (denoted by a letter on the back of the remote on a sticker) So giving you my codes may not make yours work.

3)No, its a pair of solenoid air valves each paired with a one way flap valve....there is no pump as such, the theory being that the pressure in the chamber alternates high to low and so the rotation of the motor will make the sealed system vent or un-vent(?!) if either of the valves happen to be open at the time of rotation.  This is why it adjusts the pressure only a little bit per rotation.  There are no steps to the pressure at all, it is just the system releasing some of its pressure/vacuum as the piston moves into a negative/positive pressure region. 

4) I don’t actually have the blynk interface any more as I moved onto a different project with a modified Venus 2000, but if I recall i set it up very similarly to the normal remote.

5) Some of the more complex sequencing is going to be more difficult without the position sensing modification especially if you plan to make the machine come to a complete stop, this is because with the unknown position, the STOP could happen at any position, this is often not ideal especially if the receiver is toward the tip (:-O) as it can easily then fall off.  IMO you would be better off going more with fast/slow type routines and keep the receiver moving

I'd love to have a go with the Venus 2000 Rehash. How much would it cost to build?

Um, I didn’t spend that much to be fair.

The motor + gearbox was about $150 on Ali Express, Small vacuum motor + solenoids for the air pressure stuff was about $20Various electronics and others maybe $30-$50Total budget no more than 250 I would say

Venus 2000 Rehash - Auto Edge Mode Demo (Part 5)

So here is a quick video demo of “Auto Edge Mode”

The program runs for a pre set amount of time and has different phases depending on the percentage progress... The idea is obviously not to let the subject cum until the timer has expired.

The system adjusts air-pressure automatically between cycles, adjusting for pressure errors and maintaining a slightly higher air pressure than normal when the receiver is paused (This prevents the receiver accidentally falling off or being shaken off by a frustrated subject!)

Notice how each cycle stops with the receiver fully sucked onto the cock. the clicking noises which can be heard are the system automatically tweaking the air pressure each cycle.

The timer can be set as long as wanted and each phase is stretched out accordingly by the app.

At the end of the timer the system (optionally) goes into milking mode which leans towards longer faster stroke cycles to finally milk the subject by force. There is no stop function after that though ... 😈

Note: This tech demo is not quite calibrated right in terms of strokes vs pauses, also the receiver motion was not so smooth on a dildo but it did the job (ish).

Venus 2000 Rehash - Air Pressure Controls (Part 4)

Ok, so having replaced the motor in the Venus 2000 and getting some working automation it is time to work on the air controls.

I wanted to replace the manual red and green buttons with something automated.

I blocked up the original air outlet/inlet and added a new internal one which was connected to my air control setup.

Here you can see my testing and implementing a small 5v air pump and solenoid valves which worth together with the air pressure sensor to monitor the suction of the Venus 2000 and add or remove air if the pressure has drifted from the desired set point. The system tracks pressure in the cylinder constantly and raises or lowers the pressure if it has drifted too far attempting to maintain a strong enough vacuum so that the cylinder has good movement but also can’t fall off. 

I have also tidied up the wiring and added an internal power-supply so that everything fits neatly inside the original Venus 2000 casing.

Venus 2000 Rehash - Calibration (Part 3)

This type of motor is fairly affordable but unfortunately it does not have a Z position encoder.  This means that while the motor can be moved to an exact rotation, it does not know where it started.

If the Venus lost power at an un known time, the stepper would not know where it was when power was turned back on.

How to solve this?

Well do you remember that pressure sensor I mentioned in my last post...

In the above video you can see the micro controller calibrating the motor position after it connects to wifi.  To achieve this, I simply start the motor rotating slowly and measure the pressure inside the air chamber. After a full rotation (indicated by the blue light coming on), the motor is moved to the position at which the pressure was at a minimum and this becomes its “zero” position.

If the motor was at a stop when the system lost power, then this function does not run as the micro controller should know the last position of the motor. 

This zero position is the fully sucked on position of the Venus 2000 and will also be the only position in which the motor should come to a stop.  This should mean the receiver doesn’t fall off during a pause in some torturous edging!

Venus 2000 Rehash - The Setup (Part 2)

Here is the initial setup.  There are more parts coming and its a bit of a mess!

The original wiring of the Venus 2000 is just trailing at the moment as I need some teeny screwdrivers to remove it and I didn’t want to just cut it off.

All physical controls will the phone app based so there will be no buttons or knobs here!

Here you can see the original (and awesome) Bodine motor has been replaced by my closed loop stepper.  It is powered by an external 24v power supply.

When working with a stepper motor, timings are annoying so I have eliminated this by driving the stepper via code on a separate micro controller (the black rectangle).  This way my Photon can do its own thing without interrupting the motor drive. (I will go into technical things in a separate post).  The micro controllers are currently powered by an external 5v power supply but I will integrate both power supplies into one at some point.

At the bottom you can see a -115 > 115 psi pressure sensor.  The range on this is a bit large but given they are quite expensive, it will have to do for now!

I definitely wanted a pressure sensor in the system for later functionality so I stuck it in now.

So far, I have not decided on how I will approach the air controls but the philosophy of the project is that they need to either be fully automated or app controlled.

Venus 2000 Rehash - The Motor (Part 1)

To solve positional issues with the Venus 2000, I have decided to use a closed loop stepper motor with integrated driver.  

These (relatively) inexpensive motors have a lot of drive for the money and with this 5:1 gear box attached, the motor can drive at least at 3 strokes per second which I decided was a good baseline minimum.

Stepper motors can be driven in exact increments and this allows me to count rotations precisely and also stop the Venus receiver in the “fully sucked on” position preventing it from accidentally falling off as sometimes happens if you stop the Venus just as it reaches the top of its stroke.

Their speed can also changed per step so some interesting stroke patters could be programmed later on.

Venus 2000 - The total rehash.

So through all my tinkering I recently made an accidental bang out of my Venus 2000 motor control board (it is dead RIP).

Rather than replace it I decided to do something I have always wanted to do and start from the ground up.

I am calling it a rehash because for the sake of ease, I have decided to use the original Venus 2000 casing and air chamber.  Beyond that its all new!

I was a bit lazy documenting the process so here is a quick video of where I am at so far and then I am going to make a few posts on the steps taken to get here.

What you see below is a looping cycle (3 rotations + 3 seconds) always stopping in the same position, there is also an acceleration + deceleration to the loops.

Some Geekery with a Tremblr Milking Machine

So I thought it would be fun to break into my new Tremblr milking machine for some automated edging & milking!

Here is my first play about with a quick edging loop:

A second problem was if the machine stopped when the receiver was closes to the end of the cock, the victim could potentially pull out or wriggle it off.

Adding a position sensor allowed me to see where the machine stopped and pull the receiver quickly all the way back on before the miked cock had a chance to escape!

Still some more fun to be had with this but its a fun start!
