"Necromancer" by Mortuary Drape from the 1997 album entitled Secret Sudaria. Mortuary Drape was founded in 1986 and this song was previously recorded for the band's 1989 demo entitled Doom Return.

Chuck Keller, best known as a member of Order from Chaos, Vulpecula and Ares Kingdom, wrote a review of Bathory's Under the Sign of the Black Mark that was featured in Creem's Reader Reviews. Chuck and Quorthon were fast friends and exchanged letters and other correspondence during this era and Chuck received a special thank-you in the liner notes for Bathory's Hammerheart.

"Fight the Beast" by Cerebus was recorded for the Satan's Revenge compilation in 1985. The band did not want to create a Satanic track and chose to warn of the dangers of evil instead, while still not embracing a Christian stance in the lyrics. I'm unsure why there are demonic chimpanzees in the cover art.

This is a promotional ad for Omen's 1984 album entitled Battle Cry. It features elements of the cover art created by Vince Gutierrez.

Richard Pryor's 1982 comedy special Live at the Sunset Strip was filmed between 1981 and 1982. During the intro, you can see Cirith Ungol's name on the marquee at the Whiskey a Go Go, along with two other unknown acts named Stormer and Romeo! What are the odds?

"Two Powers" from Sacred Oath's classic debut entitled A Crystal Vision, originally released in 1987. This album is a masterpiece of melodic 1980s power metal.

Lemmy Kilmister left Hawkwind in 1975 and almost immediately announced plans to form Motörhead. His new band would take their name from a song that he wrote and recorded with Hawkwind.

Manowar with Orson Welles. Welles appeared on “Dark Avenger” from Battle Hymns and the “Defender” single that was recorded during the same sessions as Into Glory Ride. The same recordings of Welles were used for a new version of “Defender” that appeared on Fighting the World.

Iron Maiden, Angel Witch and Praying Mantis all shared the stage on November 5th, 1979. Neal Kay, a prominent disc jockey who was instrumental in promoting early NWOBHM bands, also appeared at the concert.

“V hustej hore na stračích nohách striga chalupu svoju ukrýva” by Malokarpatan from their upcoming album entitled Nordkarpatenland. The album will be released on October 31, 2017. The song title is officially translated as “Within the dense woods, the witch is hiding her hut on magpie legs” and is about a witch named Baba Yaga that appears in Slavic folklore.

"The Kings" by Hyksos from their 1982 self-titled debut album. This album is seriously underrated.

"New Age Rebels" by Titan Force from their 1989 self-titled debut album. This is a true classic metal anthem from one of my favorite albums.

Some classic promo shots of Titan Force. This band was originally formed as Titan, and they had a dream that they’d have a singer as good as Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin from another local band called Jag Panzer. After Harry had left Jag Panzer to in an unsuccessful attempt to join Riot as a permanent member, he returned to Colorado and joined Satan’s Host. The members of Titan asked him to come jam with them, and he wound up becoming their full-time singer. Mario Flores (guitar), John Flores (bass) and Stefan Flores (drums) are brothers. After recording two albums, Harry rejoined Jag Panzer. Second guitarist Bill Richardson tragically commit suicide later on.

The Mezmerist featuring Bill Ward of Black Sabbath. They recorded an EP during 1982-1983 featuring Ward on drums.
