Kinnek is a startup based in the heart of Manhattan backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley and New York.
We are disrupting the multi-trillion dollar SMB purchasing market by bringing price transparency, algorithmic learning, and scalability to a business that is still reliant on personal phone calls and emails. We are not building an “Instagr.am meets Twitter for squirrels” (no offense to squirrels) — we are doing something that has not been done (successfully) before. Ever. We have real customers, real revenue, a whole lot of python code, and a very big dream.
Our team consists of alumni from Penn, Cornell, Yale, and Harvard with diverse career experiences from hedge funds to five-star restaurant kitchens. We are a bunch of coffee binge-ing, midnight planking, karaoke raging nerds packed into a small (but cool) space on Madison Ave who are completely committed to our company’s success (and some fun along the way).
We have a flat hierarchy and will discuss any idea from any person. We discuss before asking, we ask (our customers) before testing, we test before building — and when we build, we usually build it overnight. (Our engineers are a little crazy.)
The quality of the businesses on Kinnek is central to the success of the platform. As a result, we qualify every small business that signs up to our platform to make sure that they meet our standards. This is done mainly over the phone. We are looking for a personable, motivated, and organized person to manage the user qualification process.
Understanding the small businesses that sign up for Kinnek, learning more about their purchasing habits, qualifying their requests, and converting their feedback into meaningful product suggestions — these would all be essential components of this role. This person must also be entrepreneurial in nature and contribute actively to improving the qualification process and the success of the platform as a whole.
You are a self-starter and have an entrepreneurial spirit. You think for yourself and are not afraid to knock on a lot of doors and get knocked down before one opens. That’s what a startup is all about.
We are all first time entrepreneurs so there is no specific experience requirement. You will be on the front lines talking directly with our customers so a good phone voice would help.
