I Am Legend

       The film I Am Legend, directed by Francis Lawrence, creates a world where there is a cure to cancer that cured all patients. The cure accidentally turns to a deadly virus which kills nearly everyone in the world or tuns them into darkseekers that end up eating practically every living thing.The famous actor Will Smith is one of the only survivors left in New York City, living an abandoned life full of fear. Will Smith plays the role of a military scientist who was supposedly the last human on Earth, and he was immune to the disease that had spread. He had dedicated the two years he was left alone with the darkseekers in New York City to finding a cure and restoring human life.

       The film falls perfectly in the doomsday category because it portrays the nonexistence of human life. We got to learn that an epidemic of some sort has caused the demise of humans in the film. I really enjoyed this movie because the storyline was unique and intriguing. Unlike, many other doomsday movies, this movie showed the aftermath of what caused the loss of humans. We got to witness the tragedy of the last human living. Also, it is an interesting case study of how human interaction is vital for anyone to live a normal life. I feel like this movie also played a role in demonstrating that life might throw many obstacles, but hope eventually conquers it.

Resident Evil

     To me this film came out at a particularly important time when there was an uprising of concern around chemical warfare. This movie emphasizes the potential impact around what could happen to the world if testing or warfare got out of hand. For many I think this struck fear in the public about chemicals and testing. The acting by Milla Jovovich is exceptional along with the story line and special effects.
