<Farewell! To Mother>
She's drifting in sleep, night and day,
By the painkiller injection, pain numbing away.
Wane and withered body, like prune
Which hardened day by day as a cocoon.
Not waking, she'd dreaming to fly in the sky
To be a beautiful butterfly.
Leaving the ninety years, in bittered
Sorrow of her children, at last she'd flittered.
She longed to see her granddaughter wed,
Enduring pain in silence, unsaid.
Through ache she’d held on tight,
No words, enduring day and night.
When she heard the news that the wedding finished,
And beautiful spring day, her dream’s accomplished.
At once she deeply exhaled her breath
And put down her loads and passed the Lethe.
How could it not be sorrowful? Leaving
With unfulfilled eighty eight years,
It just the same, even if Adam
Had fallen short of a thousand years
Born with empty-handed, yet leaving
A legacy in this world to have made a big family
In heaven, henceforth may you dwell with
The Lord in eternal peace and serenity.
