People should make Odin more of a war criminal in media, like that man has violated the Geneva convention, OSHA, human rights and several laws that would get him the firing squad. This man has a rap sheet that would extend to russia and he is a bitch about it I want that old man dead

hiiii omg introduction to the fact that our Norse AU comes from The Last Unicorn!! so when we mention the Norse gods me and @clusterpuppy have come up with theyāre basically caricatures and different spin offs of the gods but in THIS universe YIPPEEE
but Thor has a silly group of friends he likes to be around on Midgard to escape the craziness on Asgard! From left to right we got Dmitri, Aimery, Billie, Mirche, Roland, Thor himself, and Neisti! Also his goats are featured in this piece too ^u^

Although water is not suitable for drinking, this is the cause of many diseases

I was looking through my book trying to find out more about where Odin possibly could have disguised as a woman to get more knowledge, which tbh sounds very much in character for him so it might just be a trivial thingā but the closest I found is him shapeshifting into a woman during the whole,,,, myth with Vali's mom, who was some powerful witch or somethingš§

So I believe when people mention it itās got to do with stanzas 21-25 of Lokasenna and in between that Odin and Loki are pointing fingers at each other going āYOUāRE UNMANLY!!!!ā
This is the verse of Lokasenna off of the Wikipedia but to sum it up-
Odin: āYou stayed on Midgard as a woman and gave birth to kids.ā
Loki: āYou went to the witches disguised AS A SORCERESS.ā
and to follow up Frigg is like āLet us leave your pasts in the past, no one needs to know what you guys did.ā š
okay but I cackled at the fact that Loki was mimicking Odin and drew something with it
Anyways yahoo Norse Mythos! Sorry I just love talking about it š
So some backstory for those who want to read (forgive me this will be long and involve more OC/non myth-canon stuff for this au specifically!):
Midgard is Thorās welcome escape from the pressure and misery of Asgard. Odin is quite the tyrant in this au (Hail Odin, heās actually my patron deity in my pagan practice so no disrespect! This is just for an au ^u^) and because of his complicated and bitter feelings for his sonās mother JƶrĆ°, Odinās relationship with Thor suffers. Thor spends most of his time on Midgard to escape this, only returning to see his children ( He & Sif are in a lavender marriage and are WLW & MLM solidarity and enjoy pleasant co-parenting) and spend time with his brothers. While on Midgard, Thor doesnāt often reveal himself and rather enjoys living a modest life. He does still defend Midgard from any threats, particularly jotunn, and one such occasion lead him to the town of Hvallatr, a small commune of pagans. A jotunn by the name of Mauf had sabotaged the townās celebration of Vidarās marriage (more on this later), resurrecting animal sacrifices with necromancy to attack the people, and wreaking havoc on the sacred occasion. Thor put an end to it to protect the people of Hvallatr and this is how he met their de facto leader, Neisti!
Neisti is an archer and amateur magic user who worships Sif and Vidarās wife, VĆxl. His parents were stanch Catholics and vile abusers, but his grandmother was Norse heathen, and he found respite being raised mainly by her, and his growing faith to the Norse gods. He found the town of Hvallatr after leaving home when his grandmother passed away. Quickly finding community and home there, he started helping around the town as much as he was able. He himself is a firecrackerā reckless (mainly with himself), sensitive, vibrant, and full of life. He and Thor after meeting became fast friends, with Neisti being amazed at Thorās bravery, and Thor being magnetized to Neistiās ardent personality. Thor didnāt reveal himself to Neisti right away, not wanting their relationship to be affected by such an obvious power dynamic, so their friendship was spent with Neisti not knowing his true identity. Together, they traveled on Midgard as a pair of companions, and Thor made a home in Hvallatr for his time spent away from Asgard. They met several other friends that comprise of Thorās friend group (hopefully Iāll post them later too hehe) and make good memories together. The two of them fall in love with each other, but they are afraid to tell one another for various reasons. Their friends are able to see it, how obvious their feelings are for each other, but they struggle to believe that the other could possibly love them. Neisti still struggles with religious Catholic guilt about his sexuality, despite being pagan and of course, Thor is a god.
Their story doesnāt end too happily but š what can you do, it is what it is. I can draw them happy to make myself feel better. They are happy for a time is all I can say!! Otherwise, VĆxl is an Aesir goddess OC that I made for this au and I will post her & more info about her soon!! Sheās the goddess of the hunt (loosely comparative to Artemis) and Frigga arranged for her to be married to Vidar.
Anyways I needed a little tap into digital stuff cause Iām gonna be working on a logo for my friend and I thought drawing them would help me a bit. And this was a silly Chibi I sketched forever ago that im still obsessed with!! Theyāve all finally got colorsā¦
