Hail Loki!
☕️ + alright, let's start with Loki 😉
Whoo, I get to yap about the god I work with!!
To me, Loki is more than just the God of Mischief. He's Chaos personified, a Harbinger of Change, a Flame who burns down everything you knew so you can build something New on the ashes of the Old. He may be called Liesmith, but He demands you to be honest with yourself. He'll turn your life upside down just to see how you deal with it, and I can say with certainty He changed me and my life for the better! I know you probably didn't expect this as an answer but this is what came out!
Seriously, Loki? A spider on my face right before my big exam? -_-
Thanks for wishing me good luck, I guess...
The tragedy of Loki and Sigyn
The tragedy of Loki and Sigyn, who are forced to witness the death of their son Narfi, killed by his brother Vali, who had been transformed into a wolf.
Afterward, Loki is bound with the entrails of his dead son, with only Sigyn for company.
Freya gives Loki a few pointers
It’s an endless cycle: Loki causes trouble, and then Loki fixes the damage.
Loki needs to rescue the beautiful Idunn, who has been abducted by the Jötnar. To do so, he needs a quick lesson from Freya (specifically, her spell or disguise that allows him to turn into a falcon).
I love that, even though Loki is a shapeshifting trickster god, he still needs a refresher course every now and then.
Freya rules!
(I don't know why every god I've drawn so far is in blue; I'm making a Sigyn in red to make up for it)
I tried adding a background because, clearly, I like making my own life miserable.
An Happy Family
Loki shows his wife (Sigyn) and their children (Váli and Narfi) his latest invention: the net.
Everything is fine.
Everyone is happy, and I’m sure nothing will go wrong.
That said, the drawing has bad perspective (bye-bye, Sigyn’s foot) and bad shading, and I colored outside the lines because I’m laaaazy.
*The place, where I work for, faces a massive lay-off and I am part of it. I feel more and more how my spirit breaks, how depressed I get. No matter how hard I try, I always lose my Job, due to external reasons: lay-offs, covid, cost-reduction. I feel helpless.*
Me: "Why do i feel like the biggest failure? Why can't I hold a job longer than either 1 year or 4 years? Why does nothing matter what I do? Why do they want to see me break?"
Loki: "The modern day society want you hollow, empty, drained. A whole spirit can't be controlled. They need your spirit to be broken, so they can pour their poison into you: consumption, greed, the endless need for more. They need you to believe your worth is tied to their whims, their corporate ladder. They want you to forget your true nature, wild, unbound and raw..."
*I never wanted to hug him more than in this moment.*
People never forget your wild spirit. We are not machines.
Stay wild, stay angry, stay strong ❤️🔥
Yo does anyone want to see some concept art of Loki at the tender age of one year old?
