It has been on my mind to do fan art for idv again after - what three months? I haven't given them any money, don't worry. However, it would be a lie to say this game doesn't still have a special place in my heart - despite its many ugly flaws..

I will come back to making fan art if there's still a demand. Same as before, the character with the most votes will be drawn first- with a twist!

I haven’t seen many ppl on tumblr talking about the boycott, but a recent update is that netease is trying to force their CC’s into a month long contract that restricts them from speaking anything bad about the game, and having to reimburse netease if they disobey it. Obviously, this is very creepy and predatory to idv content creators who are paid by them, and depend on the money.

They are offering 50% higher pay to those who stay with the program.

This shows that they’re loosing funds and they’re panicked.

Our voices matter more than ever now. Netease is sweating, we need to make it clear that this game will loose its players if they continue with the ai usage and racism. Don’t log in, don’t spend money on echoes.

Also, don’t harass artists who continue to post fanart/other fanwork. We want human passion in this game! Showing love for the game with fanart will keep spirits up for the boycott ^_^

Also don’t harass content creators who choose to stay with netease, they are clearly being coerced.

Good morning or good afternoon or good evening.

I've been made aware of the controversy surrounding not just idv but Netease as a company. I was hesitant to make a post about it this since this was supposed to be a place where I post silly art of things I enjoy. However, now the very thing I enjoy is taking a direction I do not stand with, and it disgusts me that they even tried to encourage others to use it. If you do not know what i'm referring to.

I am talking about the use of generative Ai Netease has been pushing into their games. Others have noticed it before, but it has become more blatantly obvious to the point that none of us can ignore it. It breaks my heart to see a game that has filled me with so much love and joy come to this, the passion inside of me has faded slowly as more information comes out. So, I've made the decision to no longer make art or posts or even spend money on idv. Any game or any project tied to the Netease will not be seen here.

While I am happy that others are doing something about it, even the smallest thing can help things change. I advise you to search about it more. There are posts on Twitter discussing it it however, there are also videos on Tiktok and YouTube to catch you up to speed. I'm sorry if this sadness you, but please do not let it ruin your day.

Let's be hopeful. The story has not ended it is far from over, we are still in it, and we can still change it! Because this story's ending is not set in stone, so keep fighting. Boycott, send complain emails to them, whatever you can think of - however, remember to be civil, we want change not to threaten lively hoods. That won't help our cause. That is all from me. This recent optimization and the fact he’s getting an Ivory Towers costume has given me the thought I should go back and draw other characters besides that Novelist.
