I sometimes have to remind myself that this guy was the protagonist of a 90s manga and not a modern cartoon. He would get along famously with modern protagonists (Anne, Luz, etc). He’s fiscally irresponsible. He finds a shape shifting alien and his first thought is “how can I use this to cheat at dice.” He almost failed to defeat a serial killer because he overslept. He nonchalantly punches holes into people and walls and turns his enemies into rocks or books. He’s scared of turtles. He’ll beat anyone who insults his hair to a pulp without a second thought. He struggles with the concept of death. He canonically has one of the strongest abilities in the series and he uses it for petty things all the time, like stealing money from his father or investigating spaghetti. He is 16 and has two sisters, ages 56 and 1. He’s even gay.
