Fibre crafts are 50% soothing repetitive action and 50% "God Fucking Damnit"
“So you’re a villain, but you only want to take over this small village?” “Yep.” “You don’t have any plans to take over anywhere else?” “Nope.”

Happy 8th Heartstopper anniversary 🥹 It's hard to even express how much Heartstopper means to me. I still feel such joy and peace getting to sit down and write/draw it every day. Extremely grateful for everyone's love for Heartstopper, genuinely gets me emotional thinking about people's love for this story. Posting some art in a couple of hours to celebrate ❤️
Happy 8 years of Heartstopper ❤️ 8 years ago today I posted the first few pages of the Heartstopper webcomic 🍂
February 2022
My Challenge for February is to cook or Bake once per week. Due to not needed to be elsewhere for work or study, I’m living with my parents which means they are doing many of the tasks and support that I would do for myself if I was living alone including cooking meals. This challenge is to help out with taking more of those tasks off my parents as well as making sure I am still maintaining these skills for when I do live on my own. I think cooking is one of the more important of those skills since bad cooking and meal planning can lead to illness, it’s my skill I want to keep most fresh.
I was very happy with how my challenge for January turned out I wrote 10006 words which was about 1/3 of the goal but still it progressed my story much further than where it was at the beginning of the month.
For my ABC book challenge I am reading
S- Scorpia rising by Anthony Horowitz
F- Fullmetal Alchemist volume 4 by Hiromu Arakawa
P- Prince of Elves by Kazu Kibuishi
L- The Lady's guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
O- The ocean at the end of the lane by Neil Gaiman
I am hoping to complete these at the beginning of the month since Demonathon is the last 2 weeks of February and I hope to participate again.
I’m January I managed to complete 2 books
The year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson
I really enjoyed this one I thought it was atmospheric and fast paced. I did find some of the religious aspects off putting but I think that did add to the atmosphere. The story kept me really engaged but I was definitely confused about the climax point.
And Just Write by James Scott Bell
This was a writing craft book and while it had a some interesting points that I might study more in depth at a later time. I found the book contains lots of general information that I don’t think will be helpful to me. It was still an interesting read and I hope I can take at least a few pointers from it to improve my writing.
January Mid Month check in
January hasn't been the month I hoped it would be. I knew the hours for my work would be more intense than usual given the nature of what I do but I didn't expect it to drag out so much of my energy as it has. My family has also been having a rather shit month which has forced me to take on a few more responsibilities than expected. In other words I'm impressed I've made any progress in my goals.
In my writing I've completed 5503 words this month so far (I've had to miss and cut back a lot of days for reasons stated above) but the progress I feel that I am making on my novel is feeling good and I'm feeling more and more confident that the first draft will be finished in 2022.
In my reading goals, I have finished Y-Year of the Witching. I enjoyed the story and it felt like a flew through it. I am currently reading J-Just Write, this is where I expected to be for my reading since I average about 3 books a month.
It may not be the dream start to the year but any progress is good progress!
January 2022
For 2022 I would like to use this blog to document my goals, desires and progress as a place I can look back upon and be able to see my own growth.
This year I'm trying different challenges each month to try and expand my knowledge, work towards completing projects and to challenge myself this year.
My challenge for January is write 1000 words per day. This is a great challenge for as one day I would love to be a published author but I do not currently have a completed story that I would like to be published and hopefully this challenge can help me work towards this goal.
This year I also have a reading challenge I would like to complete of an ABC book title challenge where I read a book starting with the each letter of the alphabet through this year. For January I have picked the letters
Y-for this I will be reading The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson.
C- for this I will be reading Crave the Mark by Veronica Roth.
N- for this I will be reading Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.
D- for this I will be reading Daughter of the Empire by Raymond E. First.
J- for this I will be reading Just Write by James Scott Bell.
