references for strahd and his intended,

in our campaign, tatyana/ tolya was (and is in most reincarnations) a trans man. strahd has never known him well enough to understand this.

in the current life where he was raised by kolyan of barovia, he comes to understand himself at a young age and begins to express his preferences of clothing and title after his father's passing. (he valued very much kolyan's emotional comfort.)

strahd knows these things about tolya, and attempts to be cordial when they interact, though it is clear his perception of tolya eclipses the real person.

s4 tomshiv is murdering me...the tension is so peak, matthew macfadyen and sarah snook have so much fucking chemistry, the history between tom and shiv is more dynamic and layered with every line of dialogue, they're insane, i'm insane, never has the line between love and hatred, desire and disgust, been more fluid, i'm going to gnaw off my own arm...thank you and goodnight

The shitshow at the fuck factory parallels. Roman's denial and refusal to acknowledge that his dad might be dead. Kendall's coping by throwing around his authority and trying to summon "better doctors" like that will solve the problem. Shiv getting mad at the people focusing on the business end, then trying to game the system and hide Logan's status from the world. Kendall being the sibling that knows they have to focus on the business end. Connor marrying Willa like him calling her to the hospital to the disgust of the family. The close associate (Frank and now Gerri) fired but only in words for the sake of Roman. The attack up in the private jet just like up in the helicopter.

All this time later and they're still the exact same fucking family they've always been.
