HIII!! Oh the snow looks so amazing if I were there I would have a hard time keeping myself from finding a way and getting on top of whatever those are just so I could play with that snow :3

The snow has long melted off of them but these are my mountains :3 so mysterious covered by the fog and all (yes they are mine I own them legally)

I could probably climb up there pretty easily but all my neighbors know me so i don’t think i could get away with it… there’s also this HUGE patch of untouched snow at the university near me but there’s a fence and security and it’s such a shame because a week later it’s still pristine…

i’m doing pretty good, i’m a little overwhelmed with music stuff but otherwise things are fine :3

yeah i don’t talk about myself on here too much… i play viola (which is like a violin with lower tuning) and i’m currently in chamber music and orchestra plus a folk punk band with some friends!! plus my music school has a festival every year where you play with basically everyone who plays the same instrument as you and i’m the second-oldest violist this year so i’m supposed to have everything super polished… all this stuff is really fun it’s just a lot piling up right now :/

thanks!!! that's so cool that you're learning guitar good luck with that!!! honestly it took me so long to feel confident with viola because i started later than most kids so i always felt like i'd never catch up but like if you keep working at it and stay excited about it you'll be great in no time :3

i had my chamber music concert yesterday and it went really well so i'm feeling slightly better but i'm also sad because i really liked my coach and i'm not gonna have her again :(

Rambling: Im basically having the same thought process as you did because I love music so much to the point where listening isn't enough anymore and I want to become a part of its creation BUT im also like who tf starts to learn the most basic instrument at 16 :( you're never gonna get anywhere :( ALAS im a genius at most things and I plan to beat Mozart at 20 so im never gonna give up on music >:)

I love the simplicity in Mrs Coulter's design. In a world where everyone's soul is able to think and speak on its own, in a shape with clear connotations about your own personality and mindset, here is a woman whose very essence is unnamed, completely unwilling to communicate, in a shape with unclear associations (in western and northern Europe at least) that has the most similarity with an engineer but with an unfamiliar beauty that is both off-putting and entrancing. I just think it's neat story telling.

sometimes i go so insane thinking about how the stories we hear as children and the stories we tell our children are sometimes the difference between who we could become and who we couldve been and then whenpeople say that stories and fiction dont matter i wanna beat them like a chimpanzee. like its not that 'fiction doesnt matter' in th sense that you can consume whatever you want forever and it wont effect you but its also like you have to be very mindful of the things you tell and the stories you write because they DO. EFFECT PEOPLE. a storyteller is a very powerful role to fill you have to be aware of what you can do both in positive and negative impact

the bible is a story. regardless of whether or not you believe its contents it is a relaying of information in a story format. centuries of peoples lives have been either lost or controlled because of a fucking story. if you dont understand the importance of stories and communicating them as a human being you have failed to understand what a human being is to begin with. we are story telling animals. the information we share with eachother is often in the form of stories. you have to listen to me boy if you think the things you write and share and speak to others dont effect them and dont effect you you have FAILED. to understand the human psyche. you cannot possibly understand the effects a story can have by dismissing it as 'i know the difference between reality and fiction' BUT DO YOU KNOW THE EFFECT FICTION HAS ON YOU. When I first drew this picture I was thinking of The Book of Dust for the top one.

When I read the His Dark Materials trilogy in the 90s/00s I remember reading an interview where Phillip Pullman mentioned a sequel series, I didn’t think it would ever actually come about and then when it did, the first 2 came out in quick succession with this third being mysteriously delayed for years.

I’m so glad to finally have it, I just re-read La Belle Sauvage and hugely enjoyed it, currently re-reading The Secret Commonwealth and will then move on hopefully before I can be spoiled.

I also got a free tote and pin badge from my local bookshop!
