this is a pretty remarkable collection of rectangular boxes.
remarkable in that there’s nothing really very remarkable about it. it’s a few rectangular boxes.
but here’s what they have going for them:
their proportion. their aspect ratio, especially in relation to one another, is almost perfect.
the long lines of steel or aluminum providing screening on the windows.
'2' is what interested me the most. some simple lines of metal transform these boxes from relatively unremarkable to relatively special.
without the strips of metal these buildings would sit there, nice enough, but not too special. and with the lines of steel they become strangely beautiful and compelling.
plus the gigant-o day of the triffids style palm trees and crystal clear sky in january help.
i love seeing these bauhaus derived buildings a few thousand miles away from weimar. baking in the sun, with no danger of the flat roofs collapsing under the weight of snow.
ok, more later. thanks,
moby

I love seeing Darren and Chris in a gif, but seeing Darren wear a non-Red Sox hat is confusing.
Might as well
