Exploring Eridian’s biology. Most of it are taken from the book, but I want to add to it :)

My headcanons:

-Rocky and Adrian had kids before Rocky went away. They are now in their (human equivalent) 20s.

-Adrian and Rocky used to be around the same age, now Adrian is MUCH older.

-Baby Eridians are called pebbles (like baby goats are called kids). Yes, this is all Grace doing.

-Eridan’s eggs are like geode.

-Eridian’s eggs (canonically) are laid together when mate and then merge. I however, also think that they would usually go for two at a time for protection (they can watch each other sleep as they get older).

-Rocky name his two new pebbles after Grace and the Hail Mary.

-I’m not a geologist and very much not knowledgeable about rock, but I believe that the green/blue we see Eridians have (movie ver) could be caused by the various level of metal element on their rock layer, like copper and bronze, interacting with the elements over time (Verdigris).

-Baby Eridians are smooth rock. As Eridians grow, they became sharper and more complex looking, caused both by natural aging and external elements.

-Most elder Eridians are green/blue since it’s a form of rusting, kind of like human with grey hair.

at work they're showing us how to use AI tools like Copilot to help in our day to day tasks.

I have many reasons why I will not use those tools, going from lack of accuracy, lack of ethics, and a higher waste of energy.

But my main reason is this:

I will do things the hard way. I will learn how to do things the hard way.

Because AI is a subscription. And when the world is dependant on AI, they will raise the price of that subscription.

And when the company I work for decides that paying for AI is too expensive for their bottom line, they will remove it.

But I will still know how to work.

It's started already. Not with individual consumers so much as corporate customers. The trouble is, every AI query costs way more to run than they've been charging, and they were banking on the costs coming down in the same way as other tech costs, like storage. But they haven't -- they've only gotten more expensive -- and these companies are running at enormous losses that they can only cover with constant VC funding.

So yeah, if things had gone the way they planned, they would have waited until people were a lot more dependent on AI than they are to jack up the prices, and their costs would be low enough that they could make a huge profit. But the financials are starting to look pretty dire. It's an open question which companies will even survive long term -- so it might not be a question of "will the AI be too expensive" but "will the AI even be available."

I'm 43. If I started using AI to do all my work, and then I had to stop using it, I would still have my previous experience to fall back on. I'd probably have to relearn some stuff, and it would be annoying, but I could do it.

If you never learned how in the first place? Well, you can still learn. But it'll take you longer and it'll be even more annoying. Possibly long enough that it could damage your career for a time, as you try to catch up on ways of working that are entirely new to you. Don't do that to yourself.

Something else that pmo about the drama and I don't know if it's because I'm a idiot that's immature. People who act better then everyone else during it and hating on people who are neutral (like why do they got main character syndrome)

yep, just because you picked one side to support whole heartedly, it doesn't mean you get to hate on people who are stepping away to see the whole image, especially if they agree about who is in the wrong (rox and qwel)

also when you do pick one side only and then shut yourself off from receiving any information against the side you support, it limits your view and that way you are indeed just following the crowd (I personally don't think that calling someone a mindless sheep is an insult, because I see it as a description of how person got their opinion – via following the mass, but i do understandif someone is upsetabout it, yet i won't be changing it, maybe just gonna add thie explanation over and over)

sharing opinion/goal/belief with many people ≠ you're in the right, and vice versa

and more same minded people ≠ guaranteed win, again, vice versa, unfortunately you do have to listen to the opposite opinion sometimes
