youve watched your best friend die. and you try to save her, but she doesnt remember you and she dies again. so you try again and again and you watch her die in horrible, horrible ways, and you love her more every time and she never remembers and she always dies and you always fail. hell, this is actual hell, youve gone through hell over and over and you realize after a decade youve been dragging your only reason and your only love and your only hope and youre only saving grace through hell with you but you cant stop because the second you stop shes going to realize shes in hell too, your only hope is you can find her a way out. youve been trying to save her and youve doomed her to a fate worse than just death, because now shes not just going to die. shes not going to become a regular witch, kill a few people, and then be harvested. your true love is going to become so horrible and monstrous that she will destroy the world, and its your fault. and you cannot stop trying to save her. you have been fourteen years old for a decade and you cannot stop.

and then she realizes who you are. what youve done. what youve made her. and she apologizes - she apologizes to you - and she destroys herself.

oh, she saves the world doing it, saves countless girls throughout the past and future from agony and gives them peaceful deaths, but she destroys herself. she tells you she will always be there with you, but no one but you remembers her. you are always burdened with memory and years that never existed and all you have are ribbons and conviction and the knowledge that you did this. you loved her so much that you destroyed her.
