Normally I wouldn’t dream of getting involved in the many misunderstandings-due-to-bad-wording misadventures on Tumblr, but this is just one too many.
To clarify: he meant, quite literally, that it is not his job.
As in, he supports gender equality in pay, but he doesn’t have any professional or personal experience in the area and wouldn’t know how to actually take part in it.

Yes, this is an extremely passive stance to take, which is annoying and not really helpful. He doesn’t have a clean record, either (you all know what I’m talking about).
But do you all only read the headlines (which are all phrased to grab attention, aka worded to make the subject look as bad as fucking possible) and nothing else?
Jeremy Renner is not a saint - trust me, I know. Comments in the past have left much to be desired, to say the least - but you could at least try to understand what someone actually means when they say something.
@buzzfeedgeeky I don’t know who the hell is running this blog, but encouraging teenagers in their habit of calling other living human beings “trash” over mild offenses, mistakes, or misunderstandings is disgusting. The line between ‘perfect cinnamon roll angel’ and ‘gross shit garbage trash should die and go to hell’ seems to be getting thinner every day, and this mentality is both intensely stupid and more than a little frightening. I expected better.
