Happy Kaisoo Day!
❄🎄Merry Christmas!🎄❄ Here’s a kaisoo oneshot I wrote. Happy Holidays! ^^
For Life (3.2k w.)
“That darn Blitzen!” Kyungsoo snatches his beard from his face and slams it on his candy cane desk. “I should have known that she would do something like this, that sneaky and fast deer.”
Kyungsoo postures a thoughtful look, searching for a remedy to get more reindeer treats. All of them were gobbled up by the greedy Blitzen who’s a total glutton for her favorite food. It’s a dilemma brought on by the baker elves who left the oatmeal with sugar cookie sprinkles out on the window sill to cool.
Now, he doesn’t have anything to give Rudolph for energy to guide his sleigh. And he knows it’s Blitzen due to the black residue marks from a lightning strike on the window frame.
Should I call Olive and have her go instead?
Scratching his head, Kyungsoo calls, “Baekhyun!”
“Yes, Santa?” The helper elf instantly materializes beside him, the top of his pointy green hat reaching Kyungsoo’s shoulder.
“I need you to tell Junmyeon to quickly make the treats again and pay attention to hide them from Blitzen. She’s very clever. And have Sehun take the reindeers out to play a few reindeer games as a distraction. Don’t let them exclude Rudolph again.”
“Aye aye, Santa.” Baekhyun chirps, eyes glistening like dark chocolate candies. Soft cherub cheeks stretch into a smile as he skips away to complete his task.
Kyungsoo plumps into his gingerbread chair, tosses on his circle rimmed glasses and studies the list on his desk. The list unfurls, rolling across the floor until reaching the door. Kyungsoo notes that it's rather long, however, not as long as the lists in the past two years. Doable, and perhaps he could get done quickly and be back by the time his in-laws come.
Everything is planned meticulously and not one stop can be delayed. He will start his journey in Kiribati and make his way to the later zones, going the opposite way of the Earth’s rotation. But he needs his reindeer prepared and full of energy before even thinking about leaving.
That darn Blitzen! He could almost kick her out the lineup. Alas, he needs all nine of them, otherwise his sleigh would get nowhere.
Why couldn’t she be more sweet and caring like Cupid? She's such a loving deer, willing to give up her share if needed. He’ll commend her later.
As Kyungsoo runs over the list, he begins to take a sip from his mug of hot chocolate until something taps him on the shoulder.
Kyungsoo startles. When he looks left, no one is there. There’s another tap to his right shoulder and once again, he sees nothing.
“Jongdae, now’s not the time. What is it?”
The silly elf steps to his left and giggles. “Santa, I’ve called you a dozen times. We have a problem.” Kyungsoo gestures for him to go on. “The shrinking device is broken.” He says with an air of nonchalance as though that isn’t a major thing that Kyungsoo needs to know!
Kyungsoo scrambles out his chair. “To the workshop! We have to fix it or else there will be no Christmas!”
They dash out of Santa’s house and it takes less than five minutes to get to his row of workshops. He immediately notices the elves in distress, running all over the buildings, trying to stuff the toys in the bag while loading the sleigh. Some elves are tending to toys in a last ditch effort to fix any mistakes or errors. Splashes of red and green overalls swiftly pass Kyungsoo as he makes his way to the very last toy station.
The utterly stressed Yixing is tinkering with the device, tapping the buttons and trying his best to get it to work. Tao is standing there as well, the two elves speaking in their own scientific language with terminology that Kyungsoo had long forgotten.
At a loss of what to do, Kyungsoo begins to panic inside. Of all the things to go wrong hours before he needs to set off, why did it have to be the shrinking device? How else will he get down everyone’s chimney?
Yixing spots him frantically pacing and doesn’t smile like he typically would. Instead, he looks gravely serious. “Santa, the device is broken and me and Tao don’t know why. It suddenly stopped allowing anyone to shrink, but the green light still comes on.”
“Have you deconstructed it and looked inside?” Kyungsoo asks, arms folding over his suit.
“We have.” Tao nods. “We’ve taken it apart to the best of our knowledge but we couldn’t see all of the components. Maybe we need to ask someone who’s better equipped in dealing with this device.”
Instantly, everyone thinks of one man.
As if to answer their wishes, Jongin enters the shop adorned in olive green overalls, white earmuffs, and a dark red coat with white faux fur. Everyone stops what they're doing, looking at him with shiny bright eyes.
Kyungsoo is not to be outdone by the elves, with eyes that sparkle, matching the enormous grin on his face.

Honey
A groan leaves from Kyungsoo's mouth as few sun rays, coming through the white curtains, kiss his handsome face. He turns his head on the opposite side only to be met with something soft tickling his chin.
He opens his eyes one at a time and blinks a few times. When he deems himself fully awake he looks down, his lips pull up in a soft smile at the sight. Jongin, his baby bear, was snuggled up against him with his head resting on Kyungsoo's bare chest and arms circling around his torso.
As much as Kyungsoo wants to stay like this forever, he can't. He has to go to his boring and work. He sighs.
He presses a light kiss on Jongin's soft brown hair, before slowly untangling himself from the hybrid’s hold and gets out of the bed.
He watches Jongin snuggle farther in the comforter scrunching his cute button nose up, his bear ears twitching as the cool air hits his beautiful face.
And Kyungsoo almost wants to get back in the comfort of his duvet beside his husband.
With a heavy sigh he grabs his towel and a pair of new boxers and heads into the bathroom.
As soon as Kyungsoo comes out of the bathroom door, freshly showered, Jongin, who was now fully awake, runs up to him and almost send Kyungsoo stumbling down on the floor with all the force he uses to hug him.
“O-oh baby?” Kyungsoo breaths out perplexed.
“Hmm” Jongin hums sniffing around Kyungsoo's neck.
“What are you doing?” He asks softly, putting his arms around the younger. A smile twitching on his lips anyways.
Jongin digs his nose further in his husband's collarbone, inhaling the sweet scent of honey bodywash. “S-soo. You. Honey” he mumbles incoherently as he laps the still wet skin of Kyungsoo's neck. He can feel his senses getting intoxicated with the exquisite scent.
The thought of decorating Kyungsoo in honey and licking it off of his body passes through his little head, and he lets out a small moan as he feels his hole clenching and oozing out slick in excitement. Fuck he would love that.
“Oh,” Kyungsoo says in realization. In his haste, he may have picked up Jongin's body wash and used it to clean his body. He sniffs himself. Yup, he indeed smelled like freshly made Napoleon honey balls. No wonder his husband jumped on him when he came out of the bathroom.
Kyungsoo tries to pull his husband, who was now pampering kisses and small nips all around his jawline and collarbone, away from the hug but he fails.
“J-Jongin, baby I have to go to work” he tries to reason out.
“No! Please Soo, stay home” The bear hybrid whines in protestation clinging onto the elder even more.
“Princess, I promise I'll be back so-” the elder is cut off by his own groan when Jongin's naughty hand slips in his boxers and tugs on his half-hard cock. “Fuck Nini!”
Jongin looks up at his husband with a mischievous grin plastered on his angelic face. He keeps on teasing the elder until, finally, the latter gives in.
“Ugh fuck! Fine! Let me call in sick!” Kyungsoo grunts through gritted teeth, playfully glaring at his baby bear. Fuck why is he so helpless around Jongin?
“Yeeeee” the younger pumps his little fist in the air in victory, he pecks Kyungsoo on the lips and runs off in the kitchen with a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth.
Kyungsoo shakes his head and chuckles, seeing his bundle of sunshine happy. He’d do anything just to his husband like this.

❄🎄Merry Christmas!🎄❄ Here’s a kaisoo drabble I wrote. Happy Holidays!^^
Rumbling Hearts (1.3k w.)
Humans are surprising, children even more so. Or at least, that was what Kyungsoo thought when his only son, in all of his six year old glory, declared what he wanted for Christmas. Those scrawny legs stood tall with his chest pumped out and his words laced with certainty before he asked for a PlayStation 5.
Kyungsoo wasn’t sure he even knew the difference between small motor skills and large ones, but here this kid was asking for something that’s worth a month’s rent. Being the doting and loving father that he was, he caved faster than lightning could strike, and made his way to the nearest retail store to buy this heavily sought after console.
Though not optimistic, Kyungsoo kept his hopes reasonable. He’d be hard pressed to find none at the store because he truly wanted to give his son a Christmas he would never forget. Being his only child and an adopted one at that, he never wanted to disappoint him.
The heavens must have heard his prayers for once. Before him, on the ivory shelf rested a sole PS5. The white box sat up straight, boasting its expensive allure along the store walls. Kyungsoo’s eyes were playing tricks on him as he thought he saw rays of light from the sky spy down upon the box, highlighting it in an ethereal glow.
Quickly, he beelined towards the shelf to snatch the very last one. Yet, just before his arm could reach out to seize it, a lithe, smooth, olive toned hand slid into his view grabbing ahold of his box. Kyungsoo leapt forward to grasp the other side.
“Excuse me! I saw this one first and I was going to get it.” He wasted no effort with pleasantries before darting his words at the person. He hadn’t even looked at the person’s face before those words tumbled from his mouth. He decided to at least look at the person before persuading them to let go.
And what a fine time to go shopping. Those lush full lips came into view, resting below the purest of brown eyes. Handsome was a term that couldn’t even begin to describe the man in front of him. Kyungsoo’s grasp on the box nearly faltered from the shock.
“I’m sorry, I can’t let you have this. My nephew is really looking forward to playing it, I need to buy it today.” The other man seemed just as adamant, and Kyungsoo was at a loss on what to do.
He thought for a brief moment but couldn’t find a solution to both of their issues. However, he knew that he couldn’t relent, his son meant the world to him, and he was going to try his best to get what he wanted.
“I commend you on being a great uncle, but this is for my only son. I have to give it to him this year, I can’t give it to you.” Kyungsoo tugged on the box a bit, drawing inward.
He couldn’t even blink before the man pulled back with more force, almost toppling the unsuspecting Kyungsoo towards him. Kyungsoo came back to his senses, “Let’s be civil here.” he warned, but didn’t let go.
“I am, just give it to me. I really don’t have any other options.”
Kyungsoo huffed, the embers of annoyance starting to kindle. “Neither do I. Do I look like I have any other options? This is the only place to get a PS5 in town.”
“Right, so just be the person with the bigger heart and give it to me, yeah? I mean, I was the one who grabbed it first anyway.”
“What does that even matter? It was in my sights first. And why do I have to have a bigger heart?” Kyungsoo’s eyes widened.
“Because you’re older…right? I mean you have a whole son and all…” The man tugged.
“Age shouldn’t matter. Just give it to me.” Kyungsoo tugged harder.
They began a full on war, garnering weird looks, some of amusement, from those who passed by. Being in the age of technology, this little debacle didn’t go without being recorded by a few phones, but Kyungsoo didn’t have an iota of care. He needed this gift, so he continued to struggle.
He didn’t know what this man did to work out, but his muscles were stretched taut, and he could literally begin to sweat at any moment. Just how much strength was needed to snatch this box away?
As soon as he thought to give his all and put his entire weight on the line, an employee at the store walked by with a glance and said, “There are more in the back, why didn’t you just ask?” His words cut sharp through their grunts and gasps of pain, silencing the two men in an instant. The employee swaggered off as if he hadn’t just shattered their entire nonsensical scene moments before.
Kyungsoo felt utterly stupid and his cheeks began to heat with humiliation. He wasn’t alone in his bout of embarrassment. The other man appeared just as self conscious, not wanting to confront the other at all. But they had to solve this issue like adults and the elephant in the room could no longer be ignored.
He cleared his throat. “Ahem…here, you can have this one, I’ll just trouble someone to bring me another,” he let go of the box gently, and the other man grabbed it.
“Thank you.” The man mumbled.
With no way to truly remedy this situation, Kyungsoo stuffed his hands in his pockets and stood there awkwardly waiting for the employee to return. He knew why he stood here, but had no idea why the man hadn’t left yet.
Just as that thought passed, the man turned to look at him with pursed lips before speaking, “I’m sorry about before. I can be a bit stubborn. You may not care for this, but I really appreciate it.”
“No worries.” Kyungsoo gave a small grin in an effort to show that he wasn’t bothered.
The man smiled, and it was simply gorgeous. Kyungsoo could swoon on the spot, but he pressed down those escalating emotions with much effort.
“Alright, then…” the man nodded and then turned on his heels before walking away. Kyungsoo watched him leave, slight disappointment in his sigh. That was one hell of an attractive man. If only he had the courage to speak up and maybe ask him his name.
However, the man didn’t make it far before turning around and marching right back up to Kyungsoo, standing a few inches from him.
Kyungsoo stood as straight as statue, his gaze steady. The man motioned his hand as though he wanted to say something but was hesitant. Kyungsoo urged him with a slow and stiff nod, craving to hear what he had to say.
“Um, my name is Jongin…I know this may sound weird but, I’d like to take you out to dinner…sometime, if that’s alright with you?” The man named Jongin scratched behind his neck, bashful and cute.
Once his initial shock was over, Kyungsoo hurried to reply, stumbling over his words. “S-sure, of course…I’m K-kyungsoo by the way.”
“Kyungsoo,” Jongin said as he smiled. “That’s a nice name.”
“Thank you.”
“Should we exchange contact info?” Jongin stuffed the box under his arm and fished for his phone in his pocket.
“Okay.”
He didn’t know what compelled him to give his number to the person he basically fought with in the middle of the store. And he didn’t understand why or how Jongin found him interesting enough to ask him out. But Kyungsoo was still certain of one thing; as he looked at the man standing in front of him, his lips upturned into a pure blinding smile;
Humans truly were surprising.
🎃Happy Halloween!!🎃
1.3k w.
His head throbbed with the cadence of a beating drum. Strong and piercing pulses of pain ricocheted around his temples as if he’d suffered a jarring concussion. Kyungsoo struggled to open his eyes, every flutter came with an elevating sense of dread.
“Ah,” he winced, hands flying to rub the pulsating spots. It was almost unbearable.
Why did he have to go through such tribulations on his day off from the firm? Sure, he had a late night with his friends, television and blanket, but Kyungsoo didn’t remember drinking to the point of warranting such an insufferable hangover. If he drank at all, because no one would consider wine coolers to be real alcohol. But lo and behold the damage it had dealt, and he vowed to himself that he would never drink Seagrams again.
He could hurl, but the thought of moving an inch from this very spot made his head ache even more.
However, in spite of the glaring pain, it was oddly very quiet. The type of quiet which allowed one to drown inside their thoughts but Kyungsoo’s mind was ultimately blank. He slowly lifted and turned his head to read the time on the clock. It was 11 AM.
Getting up at such a time was a very unique experience. Even on his days off, his body would naturally wake up at dawn, conditioned and routine. He’d make breakfast, find an outfit to wear, and do something else…
“Ack,” he hissed, gritting his teeth. Why can’t I remember?
He didn’t think much of his lack of recollection and brushed it off as a side effect from the ongoing migraine, which he definitely should do something about.
With much effort, he rose from the bed dazed and groggy, trying not to fall with every step.
“Morning, had a rough night?” An all too familiar voice chimed in with a light question, and Kyungsoo snapped his head toward the door, regretting it seconds later when a wave of pain surged through his head. “It’s a bit late for you to be getting up, isn’t it?” Jongin teased with a cross of his arms and a wicked grin.
However, Kyungsoo didn’t have the leisure to rebut his teasing right now. “Fuck.” he grimaced. This stabbing ache could rival a blow to the head from a shovel. He had never experienced something like this and wanted to lay back down. “Jongin, can you please get me some medicine for the headache. It’s really killing me.”
“Alright, I’ll look for something.” Jongin gently smiled before turning and leaving the room.
Kyungsoo sat on the mattress and briefly thought to search the night stand beside the bed, hoping something to remedy this headache would be inside. But to his dismay, there was nothing there but a few books and a diary. He could only rely on his husband and wait for him to return.
Which took more time than he could tolerate. After several long and painful minutes of waiting, he decided to try and find some medicine on his own.
“Jongin!” he called, only to be met with silence.
He shuffled his toes inside his slippers and walked into the living room of the apartment. Jongin was not there. When he turned to enter the kitchen, his husband stood before the counter, staring at the cabinets.
“What are you doing?” Kyungsoo asked, his eyes squinting from the fluorescent bulbs.
“I was just about to return, I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find anything…I’ll have to go to the store.” He appeared apologetic and hopeless, so Kyungsoo let his impending complaints go.
It would be just his luck that they didn’t have anything. “Okay.” he resigned the notion of getting this pain under control any time soon, and was about to trudge back to the bedroom before the doorbell rang, halting his motions.
With a wearied sigh, he went to the door and swung it open without looking through the peephole.
“Hey.” Chanyeol’s eyes were tinged with red as if he had been crying all night. “You good?” Kyungsoo almost felt that question was ironic, as bad as Chanyeol looked right now, maybe he should be the one asking that question. “Did you need anything?” Chanyeol feebly smiled.
At first, Kyungsoo’s mind blanked. How would his neighbor know if he needed anything? It was quite odd.
“Hey…um, actually, yes…” he enunciated slowly and with uncertainty. “Do you have anything for a migraine?”
“Sure thing,” He sniffed and brushed his nose, “But the next time you need something, don’t knock on my door and then leave.”
Before Kyungsoo could reply, Chanyeol turned and walked into his apartment to fetch him some pain relievers.
An uncomfortable emotion settled in and Kyungsoo couldn’t make sense of what this feeling was. He turned to Jongin and asked, “Did you knock on his door?”
Jongin shook his head. “It’s probably those kids up the hall playing around. You know it’s Halloween and everything.”
While nodding, he contemplated over Jongin’s words, but soon agreed. Though, why they would play tricks in the daytime was beyond his level of comprehension. Before these thoughts became even more muddled, Chanyeol returned, with the grace of God, and gave him a small bottle of prescription pain relievers of the opioid class.
“If you don’t tell the doctors, then we should be good.” He slapped a hand on Kyungsoo’s shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze, “If you ever need anything, I’m just next door alright, don’t forget.”
“Thanks, Chan…and um, are you alright?” There was an attempt to smile but it came off as a grimace with a twinge of pain on his features.
Chanyeol chuckled, “I’m doing better now that I’ve seen that you’re okay. We’ll talk soon.” And his friend left just like that, leaving a question residing inside Kyungsoo’s mind. Yet, he didn’t have the energy to pursue it and wasted no time downing the pills with a generous glass of water. The day was approaching lunch time but he wasn’t hungry, he simply wanted to go back to bed.
“Jongin, I’m going back to sleep.” he waved a lazy hand as he headed to the bedroom.
“Okay, I’ll be in there shortly.”
Kyungsoo hummed an incoherent reply and shuffled toward the bathroom to relieve himself.
While returning to his room, he heard a low thud from inside the closet. The sound was just loud enough for him to hear, he assumed that some clothes fell from their hangers.
He opened the closet door and found it was a small shoebox that fell. The box was satin black, and Kyungsoo’s eyebrows knitted as he tried to remember ever having such a shoebox in the closet. He grabbed it from the floor and stood up preparing to place it on the top shelf, but stopped.
This box was quite strange to him and curiosity sprung forth like an uncontrollable impulse. He flipped open the top and rummaged around the box. Its contents only consisted of papers that he didn’t even attempt to read. He despondently leafed through them before something caught his eye.
His motions stopped instantly and he snatched the paper from the box which fell to the floor, now long forgotten as the words jumped from the page.
Kyungsoo’s breath quickened, his vision blurred in and out as he attempted to read the words before him over and over again. It was as if the letters were moving in waves of water, and the room began to spin.
He wobbled out the closet on shaky legs while clenching the paper tight, his hands trembling violently as his eyes bulged to twice the size of saucers.
“I wish you hadn’t seen that.” Jongin’s voice shattered and cut through his thoughts, and Kyungsoo nearly sprung out his skin, throwing the paper up in the air and falling to the floor on his bottom. He looked up at Jongin, every word caught inside his throat, every thought blank and discombobulated. However, it was his eyes, those rounded eyes spoke of his pure and utter disbelief…and fear.
The paper floated to the ground and landed face up, the words on the page read:
In loving Memory of Kim Jongin. January 14 - October 30, 2020
Free Writing 7.0
Four Words. 1.2k w.
Four words. One question. He never wanted to hear them.
“Do I know you?”
They came as soft as the merest breeze.
Briefly, Kyungsoo thought, would it have had less of an affect if it were rephrased? Perhaps, a sentence:
“I don’t remember you.”
Four words. One sentence. He didn’t need to hear them.
It felt the same. It had that same word—”You” remained the pronoun. He’d give anything for the ‘you’ to be someone else, anyone else—someone who was not him.
Looking into those almond shaped eyes arched over like an eroteme, curving over near the top, leading down into a straight line before dropping low to a stop. Below, a dot lies beneath, miserable and alone, a point which didn’t have meaning without its upper half much like himself.
What would Kyungsoo give for that question to be false.
This reality was far worse than a nightmare. Numbness flew through his veins and breaths no longer came as easy. His heart which thumped could no longer be felt, and if his stomach had lurched, he wouldn’t know at all.
That uncertain gaze rooted him to the spot. That query hanging from the edge of Jongin’s eyebrows to the curve of his eyelashes.
It was foreign. As though the word ‘stranger’ became a closer unknown than who he appeared to be toward this man right now.
This same man he spent the last decade of his life devoted to. This same man who he woke up with every morning to share a warm breakfast on the kitchen table. This same man who he welcomed home every evening, but this time, to share dinner.
This man was his dear beloved husband who no longer knew who Kyungsoo was.
His hands shook, but Kyungsoo could not tell the difference when his entire body moved in tandem. His eyes brimmed with glass-like droplets cascading down a rumpled face, twisted in indescribable pain. He must appear ugly. Perhaps, too ugly to recognize. If that was Jongin’s reason for such a shattering question, it would quell this multiplying despair. However, he knew that was far from being true.
Every time Kyungsoo lifted his head and prepared his lips to speak, mounds of nothing stopped short of broken sobs, words refusing to sound. It was the silence that he could not bear. Even the nearly inaudible clatter of his tears crashing onto the tile was frighteningly too loud.
Jongin didn’t speak. Confused and rueful, he watched the seated man break down before him as he sat on a hospital bed.
The tears were heavy. Jongin wondered how could someone weep until such a state? How could he hold so many emotions and not crush under their weight?
This man must have loved him dearly. Or maybe, much more than that. To what extent his love penetrated, Jongin did not know. His memories were lost. His mind was blank like the white of a canvas resting upon an easel. There were no colors that painted him, no words to describe him, no emotions to help guide him.
He was empty.
