Hello!! this is my first request, kinda nervous icl...
Anyways! For the request could it be something along the lines of Bucci gang (separate) x self destructive/critical!reader?
essentially a comfort headcannon fic where maybe reader holds themselves in quite high regards and when almost failing missions easily gets frustrated with themselves and maybe neglect basic needs like eating out of their own self directed frustration and the characters comfort them.
if you don't feel comfortable writing any of this then pls feel free to ignore!!
Bucci gang x self-destructive/critical reader
After a slightly botched mission, even though it went well, you hole up on your own and neglect yourself to seemingly no end.
I didn't want to take anymore time delaying this, so I didn't get to write for Trish, I hope you're okay with that! And I hope you're okay with the way I chose to write this (^^ă
Just because youâre not supposed to be on the clock doesnât mean Bucciarati isnât worried for you. He notices your absence and wonders if youâre even taking care of yourself.
He knocks on your door, calls out your name, and breaks in if you donât open up.
You could be embarrassed being seen by your capo this way, but heâs too worried about you to care.
He takes you out to a nice restaurant, even if you donât fit in and arenât dressed fancy.
While eating, he talks to you about all the good things you did.
He recounts in a very objective way what you did right, and slowly adds in his own genuine praises.
After your next mission, good or bad, he doesnât wait to be alone with you. He tells you in front of everyone that you did a good job and that heâs proud of you.
The others might get a little confused as to why heâs only praising you, but they donât disagree. Itâs a bit unprofessional of him, but affirming you is more important than anything else at the moment.
If heâs the boss in this scenario, heâs tempted to send someone to check on you, but heâd rather check on you himself. The risk of going himself is bad, but he does it anyway.
If heâs a newbie, he probably uses his free time to spy outside your place, wondering why you havenât left in a while or turned your lights on.
He doesnât need powers to get into your place, he probably finds a way to get a copy of your key scarily easy.
I think itâd be funny if he got your key somehow, tried unlocking your door but your door is already carelessly left unlocked, so heâs just confused like wtf ??? trying to open it LMAO
uhh after a little while of struggling, he either gets in or you just open it for him and heâs all âđ¶â the aura loss is crazy
He didnât really plan this part so he just starts asking if youâve been okay.
I think itâd be hard to tell him about your issues straight up, but heâs definitely there for you.
He listens to you and lets you go on about your worries. Once youâre done explaining what needs to be said, he pulls you in and gives you a hug. And while youâre in his arms, he softly tells you not to destroy yourself, and that youâve been doing well.
He might not be able to keep eyes on you all the time, so he makes sure that whenever you go out, people treat you kindly, people give you extra scoops of ice cream, and flowers blossom wherever you go.
Time flies after the mission and he doesnât think too much of it tbh. Heâs bored one day and heâll think of people to bother, and then he realizes he hasnât seen you in a hot minute.Â
He brings over takeout so you have a reason to come out, he knocks on your door, probably saying stupid stuff like, âAre you alive?â And almost thinks you got robbed or something when he sees you.
He quickly forces you to eat the takeout, even if he doesnât know youâre starving, and keeps staring at you, wondering what the hell happened???
Heâs too dense to figure out what happened on his own, but heâs not THAT dense, so once you make one self-deprecating comment, he goes, âOhhhhh⊠But the mission was fine, whatâs up?â
He's trying to remember what couldâve happened, but any mistakes you made were definitely not Narancia-level bad, nor was the number 4 involved at any point in time (trust me, he made sure.), so if you mention something you did wrong, he immediately defends you without even thinking.
Itâs frustrating and validating. You really didnât do anything wrong.
He gives you a hug and a pat on the head before he leaves, and he makes sure to come back.
Like a fly that keeps following you, he wonât go away!
When youâre on a mission together, you feel closer, but he never mentions your struggles in front of the others.
He goes the extra mile during tough missions for success, keeping in mind how youâd feel if things went horribly.
After a success, completely out of shape, he puts an arm over your shoulders, going, âYou really saved my back!â And itâs true. Keeping you in mind, he was able to do outstandingly good, almost as good as you.
He busts open your door to show you something cool, and freaks out when he sees your ragged self. - Heâs so loud and frantic that lowkey gotta get up and tell him to calm down, which gets you out of bed at least.
He tries to help clean up, but he sucks at cleaning, so you have to help him.
He leaves for like an hour and a half to get groceries, but ends up just buying a bunch of random stuff. Then he tries to cook, and youâll have to stop him before he can burn down the kitchen.
He tries to be wise like Bucciarati, âYour body is a templeâŠâ But he forgets what to say mid-sentence.
He sucks at helping, but he tries to keep things lighthearted with you. He comes over for a wellness checkup, but disguises it as him trying to show off some airplane model, and yaps your ear off for so long that he loses the plot.
Heâs not the best at comfort, but he wants you to be okay.
Next time you go on a mission, heâs scared to mess up because he doesnât want you to worry again. You end up saving him in a tight spot and he gives you a breathtaking hug. Seriously, heâs got some strength surprisingly.
He goes up to Bucciarati, all âWe did pretty good out there, right?â Until Bucciarati agrees. Then he looks at you with sparkles in his eyes. You did pretty good yourself.
He tries not to act shocked, but he definitely is.
He becomes 10 times quieter because everything he usually says comes out rude and sarcastic.
Being a heavy drinker, his first instinct is to put any bottles you have lying around into the recycling.
He orders some food, and while you eat, he sits in silence with you wondering what to do.
He settles on talking you out of destroying yourself. His voice is so deep and smooth that in the moment, itâs hard not to get distracted.
But keeping up with his words, he makes it sound like you being better is all for the good of the team, when he really does just care about you.
âNothing is ever worth hurting yourself,â speaking like a true hypocrite, ânot even a failed mission.â
The next time he instinctually grabs a wine bottle, he stops to think about you, and puts it down. Save the alcohol for celebrations, not for failures.
that being said, after a successful mission, he begins to drink again. Narancia notices, âI havenât seen you drink in a while, Abbacchio, I was starting to think you quit!â
âItâs different now,â Abbacchio smiles ever so slightly, âtonightâs a celebration. Because the mission was a clean success.â
Narancia takes that as an excuse to act childish, Mista doesnât believe it but follows with the celebration, and Abbacchio wants to stop smiling to stick it to them, but he canât because of how your doe-like stare from across the room.
He also gets frustrated when a mission has failed, or even if it succeeded but was a mess, so he understands where youâre coming from.
Forgive him, he might have the urge to call you stupid for this. He doesnât mean to!!!
He just believes youâre above this, that youâre too smart to be acting this way. Only someone stupid would do something like starve themselves, right?
You're not stupid though. You just need help. Once he realizes that, he does his best to help you out even though he knows itâs not really his business.
This guy is so extra, heâs cleaning your whole place and organizing your stuff. PLEASE stop him before he goes through things you donât want him to see.
He comes back over every now and then to check up on you, always with food or a snack. Heâs like a mom, constantly criticizing you for the sake of your health, but it is out of concern.
