“If you try to tell me what to do, I’ll bite you.” She replied quickly, stifling any smile that threatened at the idea. She knew he would believe her, too. She wasn’t sure if she would actually do it or not, it would probably depend on her mood and where they were. “Then we would be a boring couple and I would have to murder you and bury your body under the house.”
Ella nodded. She didn’t know what to tell him, because nothing was actually wrong. It was just so many different things that had her feeling limp and wound up all at the same time. She shrugged half-heartedly. “I don’t know. Does it ever feel like something else should go wrong soon?” She asked, leaning against him. “It feels like everything is too perfect. I’m not supposed to be happy.”
“Sounds fun.” He winked at her, knowing she’d probably accuse him of being disgusting or something like that. But it would also make her smile, because he could see the one that was threatening, just at the corner of her mouth. “That sounds like a terrible idea. Who would you cuddle while you sleep then?”
He leaned over and kissed the top of her head. “You need to get used to it. Because I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure you’re happy.” That was a big part of his life plan, making sure that she was happy and content, no matter where they were. “Nothing’s going to go wrong.”
