“I think I can help you with that. Canvas is a little difficult at first until you get used tot he texture of the paints with the texture of the canvas. What kind of paint were you thinking? Acrylic, oil, water?”

         “Exactly, it lingers, which is why there is so much snow in March. It’ll forever linger, I always find that Winter lasts the longest, with Summer a close second. I’d love to have more of an Autumn weather but apparently that will never happen,” she stated with a small chuckle. “It’s dressing up enough, Salem was an amazing fuckin’ cat, you can’t deny that one.”
“It does not linger. It takes the appropriate amount of time! It just happens to be forced to start late because summer lingers and makes fall later then fall is forced to be later than normal too.” Kit mused, faking a defensive tone to protect winter. “Salem was great, I’m not denying it. But I’m telling you, dressing her up as a witch would be like giving her a shirt that says “this is my Halloween costume”. It may seem quirky but really it’s just boring.”

“That she is. We should! That’s such a great idea!”

“And yet I think I’d be more happy for Halloween in January or something like that” Rayn chuckled. “ Yeah there’s something weirdly lovely about leaves falling from the trees”
“Oh I love that it’s in October. October is a beautiful time of year. Not too hot, not too cold.” Kit mused. “I think it’s watching as the leaves change color...and of course stepping on them for the crunch.”

“Glad we can finally agree on something. See, I’m not just a pretty face.” The girl grinned before sighing and tilting her head. “ I know a place.”
“I never said you were.” Kit mused. “Then lead the way.”

Fall’s my favorite season; I hate seeing it get such little attention these days.” Sushim raised a brow curiously at Kit before smiling a bit brightly. “I look forward to an invite then! I assume there’ll be a Halloween party of sorts? If not, I’m always willing to put on one at my place,” the oneiroi laughed before extending a hand towards Kit. “Sushim, by the way. Rude of me not to introduce myself.”
“That makes two of us. That’s why I try to make a bigger deal out of celebrating it. Maybe one day my spirit will carry on to my neighbors.” Kit mused with a laugh. “You will definitely be invited and I feel like a small party might have to be a thing. I can’t say my apartment is the best location for any party but I’m willing to help set one up.” He laughed before he shook the other’s hand. “I’m Kit, always good to meet someone who can appreciate the joys of fall.”

“If you met her you would understand. Halloween fits her so well and she knows it. She can’t help but to embrace it.”

“Oh come on…you could be the next Shaun White except not a carrot top, but still with a good head of locks!” All though Brielle was protective of her own heart and dreams, letting very few in to know the deepest parts of her soul, she would happily root on others to go where the stars led them. “Gardening? Flowers or produce? If produce, you’re gonna have to cook me a meal Carter,” she chuckled as she took a sip of her frappe. “Hmmm…not much really either. Just reconnecting with people again and embracing the greatness this city has to offer once more.”Â
“I mean, I could.” He mused. “But that just sounds like a lot of work. Everybody would have high expectation for me and be disappoint when I...well disappoint them.” Kit mused. “Oh both. A lot of different things actually. I have flowers, herbs, fruits, vegetables...pretty much anything. Maybe one day I will.” Kit mused as he drank his coffee. “The greatness of this city,” He mused with a laugh. “Been a while since I’ve heard anyone saying this city is great and not a death trap.”

CJ resisted the urge to use force to get her answers to her questions and, instead, side-eyed “Ms. Spooky” before clearing her throat. “Nothing of monetary value. You live above the shop?” she asked, changing the topic a bit to see what other information she could uncover.Â
“Yes, the beautiful witch who sits in the window. She’s not very talkative though, just a warning. She’s a cat.” Kit said, an eyebrow raising as the annoyance on the cop’s face became obvious. “Yeah, turned the upstairs into a bedroom. Why?”

Winter always lingers, at least until mid March, I don’t remember the last time the snow melted quickly and we got a decent spring,” she stated with a small chuckle. “What do you mean? Dressing her her up as Salem from Sabrina would be fucking perfect, why would you miss that opportunity?”
“I don’t think it lingers. You’re forgetting, winter has come until really late. We’re always glad that it’s warm so later into the year but then get upset when there’s snow in March. But it’s not really around all that long.” He mused. “Because she is already a witch. IT’s not dressing up when she’s already a witch.”

“That’s a relief.” Both that the cat wasn’t married, and that she was in fact a cat.
“I would hope so.” Kit mused. “She’s a very lovely cat. Just not fond of suitors.”

Kaia sat on the stone wall happily watching Kit practise tricks on his skateboard. It was something they had always done. Even as kids Kaia would sit in the garden watching Kit. People often asked her if she found it boring, but Kaia always found it relaxing. She wasn’t sure why but it always managed to soothe her, and she always got a couple of laughs when he fell over. Hearing the familiar jingle of an ice cream truck Kaia suddenly found herself peckish. “Ice cream break? My treat?” She called over. @kitcarter
For years the two had spent time together in near silence. Kit skated around while Kaia would sit quietly. The two would talk and laugh. It was almost therapeutic. Kicking hit skateboard up into his hand, he walked over to her as they both heard the ice cream truck. “I could definitely use a break.” He said, leaning his board against the wall she was sitting at.Â

“See I’m not that big into Thanksgiving. I am a fan of stuffing and mashed potatoes but can’t say I enjoy the holiday much.” Kit said with a small laugh. “At least you’re aware of the very skeptical reasoning behind it.”
