I made this challenge back in 2019 when I was still active on my youtube channel LaulauPlays, and I slowly wrote it with some of my subscribers. I stopped playing it in 2022, then I got hacked and I almost lost the document with the challenge, ALMOST. Only for it to be left abandoned and unfinished 😅 So here I am, 6 years later, to finally finish it! better late than never, right?

If you're familiar with the first Very Berry Challenge, this one changed a lot: 1) the challenge is actually complete; 2) instead of colors, each generation is based on a fruit/berry; 3) as it is a berry challenge, your sims can be sweet or sour (aka good or bad). I added in a Sour Route, which makes the challenge harder, as you have more goals to complete. You don't have to stick to a Route, you can be sour on one gen, sweet on the other, sweet again, whatever. Some routes are harder then the others, so pick wisely!

New graphics set, this time for the Sims in Bloom Legacy by @a-sims-garden! I've been wanting to do this challenge for a long time. I hope I'm able to eventually.
There are two sides to every coin and two paths your sims can take in this new spin on the ten generation legacy challenge. Each generation your sim will be given a basic background and personality along with a set of requirements like usual, but that’s only half the story. You will have to choose either heads or tails in order to decide your sims future, each side with its own pros and cons, effecting not only the required tasks but your sim’s story as well.
Will your sim become a mad scientist or a tomb raiding adventurer? Will they explore their love of nature through gardening, or help animals in need as a vet? Will they become a werewolf, or a vampire? You decide! Or… leave it up to fate, and flip a coin.
General Rules:
No, you do not actually have to flip a coin. I wanted to create a flexible, customizable playing experience, so feel free to choose whichever side you want to play or works best for your story. Though you can certainly flip a coin if you want to.
The challenge is designed so that your heir sims can stay neutral through their baby - teen life stages. You can decide which side they end up pursuing as they grow. However, the deadline to choose a side is when your heir ages up into a young adult.
The only exception to the above rule is the founder, you do not necessarily have to choose which side to pursue immediately, but I’d recommend officially choosing their route by the time they’re at most halfway through their young adult hood.
Each generation must complete their specified career and aspiration.
If the career branch is not specified, you can choose whichever branch you’d like.
Some generations only have 1 required base trait, so if you haven’t decided on a path before your sim becomes a teen, feel free to choose any trait you want and then change it to the required trait once they become a young adult and you’ve chosen your desired path.
Bonus Challenges are optional. Their just fun extra things I thought of to make things more challenging, but they’re not required.

When I was looking for occults challenge to play I found a lot of witches and vampire type of things, but I don't quite remember seeing a werewolf one.
These three occults are my favorites (unfortunately I kind of ignore the others because you know... meh, not as fun to play with them. But maybe one day I'll try to make a mermaid challenge)
Down here you're gonna find the rules and guidelines for each gen. You don't have to follow strictly the rules if you don't want to, I know it can be annoying sometimes. And also I made it short for those who prefer shorter challenges (like me).

Rules:
You must reside only in the occults’s worlds, but preferably in Moonwood Mill (You can always kick your family out and pretend you’re living in another place hehe)
Start as YA, any gender
You can use cheats if you want.

You don’t have to max all these skills, but it would be nice if you at least worked on them all your sims lives

GENERATION 1: Waxing Crescent
You grew up close to the Moonwood Collective, they are basically your family and you learned how to be a good sim and not hurt others. You prefer to lock yourself up than to behave like an animal in front of others. You always loved art/writing and your hobby is to play piano. You don’t like the spotlight because of your werewolf tendencies, so you chose a more “reclusive” career.
Traits: Proper/Snob, Bookworm, Good
Aspiration: The Emissary of the Collective
Skills: Charisma, Piano/Painting, Writing
Career: Painter or Writer (It can be the freelance career if you prefer)
Volunteer with family (or alone) at least once a week
Your partner can be any gender, can be human or even another type of occult, as long as the heir is a werewof.
Get married to your partner and never divorce. You two were made for each other
GENERATION 2: Waning Gibbous
Your parents wanted you to be as perfect as they are, but you’re not them. You have your own personality and your own desires. You’re a rebel. You love being a werewolf and you feel powerful when you show others who you are. The only thing you got from your parent was the love for music, but you are more of a guitar type of sim. And you want to be the leader of your own pack.
Traits: Mean, Active, Kleptomaniac
Aspiration: Wildfang Renegade
Skills: Mischief, Fitness, Guitar
Career: Criminal or perform only odd jobs and have a part time job
Meet your friends at the bar every weekend
Have a “fight club” club
Get pregnant/get your girlfriend pregnant as a teen (if your sim is a boy: don’t assume the responsability / if your sim is a girl: give the baby to someone else. you can keep the child close to you if you want to play with them later, in case it’s a werewolf)
Get married as a Young Adult and divorce before become an Adult. You can find love again, but if you don’t, that’s okay. (preferably die alone :)
One day your sims is gonna teach their teen kid (the heir) how to fight. You’re take them to Greg and let them fight Greg… alone.
GENERATION 3: Full Moon
You never got along with your parent. You actually hate them. You prefer to be alone, you’re like a hurt puppy that attacks others who tries to come closer to you. But you’re very sweet on the inside. And finally one day you find the love of your life and you have a beautiful family together.
Traits: Loner, Gloomy, Hot-Headed
Aspiration: Lone Wolf
Skills: Gardening, Handiness, Fishing
Career: Gardner or Fisherman (and perform odd jobs)
If you chose gardner: go fishing every weekend, if you chose fisherman: have a garden
Live off the grid, at least until you get married (after that you can go back to society again if you want to. But it’s not mandatory)
Have at least two kids
GENERATION 4: New Moon
You grew up in a loving family. You have so many plans for your life, but you don’t want to be a werewolf forever. You spent your teenager years reading werewolf books and you got the Lunar Epiphany and learned how to make the cure. Maybe you’re the one who breaks the family’s curse, right? and you want to be a super parent because your own parent inspired you.
Traits: Genius, Family-Oriented, Loyal
Aspiration: Cure Seeker
Skills: Logic, Parenting, Baking/Gourmet Cooking
Career: Doctor/Astrounaut
Find love when you are already a human and be the best parent you can be!
Go out on dates at least once a week with your partner, and when you have a child go out at least once a week with your family.
I wanted to make something a little bit more glam and chic, I have never actually made dresses this long! I loved making this collection and was really fun to make something so fashionable!
A ten generation legacy challenge based on the planets in the solar system, including the sun and Pluto. Each generation will have a different set of goals and requirements before the new heir takes over.
To WIN:
You must complete all generations.
The challenge FAILS if:
Your current heir dies when the next heir has not yet reached becoming a Teenager.
You fail to complete the goals in each generation.
Rules:
Aging must be turned on, but you can have it at any length you wish (I recommend long but it is entirely your choice).
Each goal must be met before the new heir takes over.
You cannot give the sims dramatic makeover or personality adjustments. Slight changes to the appearance are fine but they can’t be made into a whole new sim. Traits cannot be changed once they are given.
NO MONEY CHEATS.

Vague guidelines/suggestions:
Heir can be any gender, they don’t have to be female. They can also be any sexuality.
Children don’t have to be genetic, they can be adopted, BUT they must be adopted as a baby/toddler.
Mods and custom content can be used.
The generations will offer three traits, you do not need the heir to have all three traits, but they MUST have at least TWO of them.
UPDATED RULE: If you cannot add any of the required traits when the heir is a child, you are able to choose any similar and change them to the correct trait when available (either as a teen or YA). You can do this through cheats in CAS. But the same rule applies that you must have at least two of the offered traits by the time the heir is a YA.
If you do not have all of the packs required to complete the requirements for each generation, either find a similar alternative or skip that rule. But where possible, you must complete each generation requirement. I have done my best to make this challenge base game compatible.
(OPTIONAL) Name each heir with the letter of the planet, e.g. Mercury = Max.
(OPTIONAL) Use the hashtag #SolarSystemChallenge on tweets, posts, and videos.
Inspiration:
I used this website to help me come up with the personalities and general basis of each planet. From this, I came up with my own story and challenge. The website was purely used for inspiration of the traits.
This is the exact same challenge I released 22.02.21, nothing has changed. I just wanted to share it as a proper Tumblr post so that the rules are easier for everyone to find.
THE GENERATIONS
Generation 1 - Mercury
You’ve always had a way with words and known how to woo others. You’re known for your strong communication skills and are great with other people. You aren’t one to blend in, and always want to stand out, though you’re not smug, just confident. Everyone wants to be your friend. I think it’s safe to say you’re an extrovert who really does care for other people!
Requirements:
Master the charisma, writing and parenting skills.
Have at least one best friend and three close friends.
See your friends at least once a week (the Get Together club system is beneficial but not essential).
Never stay single for more than one sim week (doesn’t have to be the same partner the whole time).
Marry your soulmate before you become an Adult.
Have at least two children, who you are very close with.
Complete the friend of the world aspiration.
Traits: outgoing, family-oriented, self-assured
Aspiration: friend of the world
Generation 2 - Venus
Your parents always spoilt you and your siblings, whatever you wanted, you got! Because of this, you’ve grown up always getting your own way. Everyone adores you for your good looks, but once they get to know you, they would discover you’re actually quite a shallow person. You can’t stay in relationships long-term, there is always something wrong with your partner, never you though…. Friends come and go, but you always have your parents and siblings to rely on.
Requirements:
Have at least six romantic relationships throughout your life, but never stay with them for more than four sim weeks.
Have at least four children (the other parent can be the same or different, it makes no odds).
Have one (or more) of your siblings be your best friend.
Never have any close friends, other than your family, last more than a week.
Visit your parents, or have your parents over, at least once a week.
Never complete a career to level 10.
Master the photography skill.
Complete the mansion baron aspiration.
Traits: materialistic, romantic, self-absorbed
Aspiration: mansion baron
Generation 3 - Earth
You are the middle child who comes from a broken family, with only one parent who had to balance their time between you and all your siblings. Even though your family does love you, you never felt truly loved or seen. You’re quite self-destructive because of this, and can never seem to let yourself be happy. There’s still hope though for things to turn around, but you must learn to love yourself before you can let anyone else love you again.
Requirements:
Must be the middle child.
Have at least three romantic relationships, all of which you break up with them (don’t ask to be friends).
Have at least three careers, but quit your job before you reach level five.
Master the wellness and gardening skills, but not before you turn into an Adult.
Complete the freelance botanist aspiration, but not before you turn into an Adult.
Have only one child before reaching an Adult. Never marry before being an Elder.
Traits: gloomy, loves outdoors, paranoid
Aspiration: freelance botanist
Generation 4 - Mars
Your parent never took good care of themself, their self-destruction often meant you had to be their emotional safety net. You were always there for them and looked after them, but as their child, they should be the one looking after you, not the other way around? As you got older, you realised how terrible that had been for you. You never got to truly be a child as you had to be responsible for your parent. This has led you to become quite angry and frustrated, but you won’t let yourself turn into your parent, you can do better and you will do better. You are passionate about fitness as it has become a cathartic way to let your aggression out.
Requirements:
Have a close relationship with the previous heir growing up, but lose all friendship when you become a Young Adult.
Visit the gym at least once a week throughout your Young Adult and Adult life.
Have a part-time job as a teen.
Graduate high-school with an A grade.
Get at least an A grade at university (if you have discover university)
Reach level ten of any career.
Never have a serious relationship until you are at least level eight of your career.
Rekindle the friendship with the previous heir only after you reach level ten of your career and are engaged to your fiancé.
Have at least one child.
Master the fitness and research & debate skills.
Traits: hot-headed, ambitious, perfectionist
Aspiration: bodybuilder (or academic if you have discover university)
Generation 5 - Jupiter
You were quite fortunate in your upbringing. Your parents established themselves and their careers before they had you, which meant you were quite well-off. But they didn’t spoil you, they taught you to work hard for what you want. They give you the opportunity to explore different hobbies and skills, and are supportive of whatever you want to do, and you make sure to take full advantage of this. Any opportunity that comes your way, you take it. You can never settle on one passion, and have many different interests. Because of this, you’re quite a well-rounded person and have a lot of skills in different areas.
Requirements:
Live in at least two different worlds as a Young Adult, and another two different worlds as an Adult.
Master the cooking, painting, rocket science, DJ mixing, and bowling skill.
Travel to Sixam.
Master at least one instrument.
Master at least one extreme sport (if you have snowy escape).
Complete your aspiration before you become an Elder.
Have at least two children before you become an Adult.
Traits: adventurous, self-assured, cheerful
Aspiration: nerd brain (or extreme sports enthusiast if you have snowy escape)
Generation 6 - Saturn
You were always moving around growing up, from house to house and world to world. This has meant you’re quite well-rounded and intellectual due to your understanding of different cultures. Your wisdom means a lot of people look up to you and rely on you, but you can be known to sometimes look down on other people if they don’t quite match your intellectual standard. You can be quite cynical and pessimistic, but you’re just being honest and real with yourself and others.
Requirements:
Master the Selvadoradian culture, vampire lore, writing and logic skills.
Visit the library at least once a week to work on writing books.
Write and publish at least five books before you turn into an Adult.
Get at least an A grade at university (if you have discover university).
Reach level ten of the education career (if you have discover university). If you do not have discover university, then reach level ten of the writer career.
Visit Selvadorada at least twice as a Young Adult (if you have jungle adventure).
Have three children with your long-term partner.
Traits: genius, gloomy, bookworm
Aspiration: renaissance sim
Generation 7 - Uranus
Growing up with a parent as intellectual as yours, you have always been exposed to exciting and different things. Your brain never settles and you always want to be trying something new. Because of this, you can sometimes be seen as a bit eclectic and erratic. But there’s nothing wrong with that, especially if it means your exposure to new things can enlighten your mind and life!
Requirements:
Reach level ten of the science career (if you don’t have get to work, then tech guru career).
Reach level five of at least ten skills over your Young Adult life, but focus on one at a time, don’t do them all in one go.
Master the painting and programming skills.
Don’t have any relationship last for more than two weeks.
Have a cowplant at all times throughout your Adult life.
Complete at least one collection of your choosing.
Have only one child.
Complete at least two aspirations, one must be the computer whiz aspiration.
Traits: erratic, non-committal, genius
Aspiration: computer whiz
Generation 8 - Neptune
Your parent’s eclectic ways meant you grew up quite free-spirited and exposed to new ideas. Though you were more of a person of fate than your parent, who was a person of science. You were more spiritual and they were more factual. This causes a lot of tension between the two of you, though you do still get along, you’re just two very different people. Since moving away from home, you try to connect more with your mind and soul than the outside world.
Requirements:
You must move to a new world when you turn into a YA (if you have island living, move to Sulani).
Master the wellness, painting, medium, and guitar skills.
Do not have a relationship last for more than a week UNTIL you have mastered these skills.
Sell at least two paintings a week.
Have five children, the other parent doesn’t need to be the same person.
Complete the painter extraordinaire aspiration and the musical genius aspiration.
Clean Sulani (if you have island living).
Befriend Guidry (if you have paranormal).
Hold a séance at least once a week (if you have paranormal).
Traits: creative, child of the ocean, goofball
Aspiration: painter extraordinaire and musical genius
Generation 9 - Pluto
You are the youngest child out of a big family, and often feel overshadowed by your older siblings. They always seemed to do better than you growing up, and you never really stood out. This has caused you to feel a bit like the black sheep of the family. Because of this, you never really connected with your siblings or parents. You never really do much with your time, as you feel it wouldn’t be good enough anyway, but no one knows your real passion, what you’re really good at…
Requirements:
Lose all positive relationships with your parents and siblings as a Young Adult.
Never achieve more than a B level at school.
Only ever have part time jobs for freelance work as a Young Adult.
Master the video gaming and mischief skill before you are an Adult.
Have a midlife crisis when you turn into an Adult and discover a new passion. This can be any skill you wish, but whatever it is you must master it before you are an Elder.
Only ever get a full time job as an Adult, and reach level ten before you are an Elder.
Never have a romantic relationship or any close friends until you are an Adult.
Meet your soulmate as an Adult.
Have at least one child.
Reconcile and make amends with your siblings (and parents if they are still alive) when you are married and have your first child.
Traits: loner, gloomy, jealous
Aspiration: soulmate
Generation 10 - Sun
You heard how much your parent suffered before they truly learned to love themselves and others, so you know how important self-love is. You believe that core energy comes from within and that you are the only person who can truly make yourself happy. If you want something, you will work until you get it as you believe you are capable of anything. You aren’t really interested in romantic love, but are passionate about your friends and family.
Requirements:
Never have a romantic relationship.
Have at least five close friends who you see at least once a week (the Get Together club system is beneficial but not essential).
Visit your parents, or have your parents over, at least once a week.
Live with at least two friends throughout your entire Young Adult life, either through the discover university roommate system or in your household.
When your parents become Elders, they must move in with you.
Always have a pet (if you have cats and dogs and/or my first pet).
Master any four skills. Reach the top of any career.
Traits: cheerful, good, self-assured
Aspiration: party animal (or leader of the pack if you have get together)

do you love generational challenges in the sims? are you a pokemon nerd? if so, this may be the legacy challenge for you. introducing the pokemon type legacy, an 18 generation-long challenge meant to explore what the sims 4 has to offer and, most of all, have fun! i’ve been working on the rules for a few months now and haven’t playtested everything, so bear with me if there are a few tweaks made along the way. you can see my pokemon type legacy gameplay here. please tag me if you end up doing this challenge! i’d love to see other people’s gameplay :D

complete the given aspirations and reach level ten of the given careers unless otherwise stated
play on normal lifespan
each heir should have at least one biological child
some collections are difficult to complete and most are luck based. if you don’t complete a collection during the generation that it’s listed under, just continue that goal to the next generation
i love color gameplay! if you like it too, i’ve listed two colors for each generation, one of which carries over to the next. this is completely optional ofc
have fun! if something in the rules doesn’t vibe with your gameplay style, or if you want to skip generations, that’s fine. play however you want to play!
