Despite both you and your girlfriend being grown, F.B.I. agents with no children. Your beautiful girlfriend Penelope Garcia insisted on baking cookies ‘for Santa’ (A.K.A. for you two).
Insisted, really meant she had already bought all the ingredients to make a plethora of types of cookies. Snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, the vanilla ones with sprinkles inside. You name it and she had the recipe and seemingly unlimited baking sweets at the ready.
“Which one do you want to make first, my sugarplum?” She said, wrapping her apron with rainbow glitter around herself.
“Do we even have time to make all of these?” You asked as she handed you an older apron with ruffles on the edges and cupcakes decorating the white fabric.
“Oh honey bun I got this list down from about fifty types. I hacked The New York Times website to try and get some of the recipes they don’t post till Christmas weekend. These are just the best classic recipes I could find for us.” She informed you as she got out her cookie cutter.
“You’re impossible.” You giggle as you start pouring the sugar into the ceramic bowl you two had made on your first date.
“Don’t you think that me being oh so impossible is what makes me the most amazing girlfriend on all of the East Coast?” She teased as she helped pour in the cinnamon for the snickerdoodle.
“It is but you’re also impossible.”
“I know!” She squeaked as if it was an accomplishment. “But I’m so impossible that everyone just has to love me to figure out the impossiblities that are within my soul.”
You laugh as you place the cookie dough on the sheet to let her go at it with the cookie cutters in the shape of a Santa hat.
“We pre heated the oven right?” You ask her with a slight hint of panic at the prospect of adding more time to what is looking to be a whole night of baking cookies.
It wouldn’t be surprising if you had to give more than half of these to both of your workplaces just so they wouldn’t go bad. Because no matter how bad of a sweet tooth the both of you had there was no way on god’s beautiful green earth that you and Penelope could get through six dozen cookies before they got stale. Two dozen of each type of course.
Penelope reassured your preheating nerves with a nod, “Indeed we did my sweet love.”
“Good.” You sigh, “Should we plan the cookie gifting distribution? Because we’re making six dozen cookies which is like seventy two cookies or something crazy. They go stale in like three days. Seventy two cookies in three days for the two of us is an absurd amount that might give us a sugar overload.”
“Hotch and JJ both have little ones so we’ll give them some extras for them. Chocolate thunder will probably try and take some more. You can give them to all your co-workers too! Spread the holiday joy. Share the Christmas spirit with the whole of Virginia!”
“That’s very on brand for you, sweetheart.” You compliment kissing her blonde hair.
“Thank you. I try.” She smiled, her urge to do good being recognized.
