okay I don't think I like my new job all that much. i don't think my boss understands how much harder the job is for me because of my adhd. like... I'm trying my best, but sometimes I can't force myself to do stuff. the boss knows that I have adhd but idk, they act like I don't, it's weird. if I told them that I'm genuinely just unable to be as efficient as other workers they'd cut my salary, or just fire me, and I got this job purely by luck and connections and I don't think I can get a new one that'd have a good enough paycheck

i feel anxious at work. i also work worse when my coworker is sitting in the same room as me (which is. also their workplace.) but I just feel like I'm being watched and it makes me freeze, I don't like that they're somewhere behind me and I can't look at them all the time. i feel better when I'm alone and it makes me do stuff faster. i also sometimes worry about the very real possibility that I'm being watched through a camera... people say that's normal here. i don't know what to do. today my boss sat with me and calculated how much time (on average) it'd take me to do the tasks I had for the day, and there were 1.5 hours left that i "could've spent on a different task" and we discussed how to make me more productive (i didn't voice any of my concerns, I don't want to take risks). i don't know if that's a normal thing for a boss to do, i don't like to be... calculated. I'm not a machine. but this work makes me feel like i am, despite the boss saying that they "value my individuality".

and the worst part is that they're right! i probably spent that time scrolling reels or talking to my friends or doing literally anything else other than working! and i hate it! i can't force myself to do anything, and when a task is too boring my brain LITERALLY shuts off and I start to fall asleep INSTANTLY like it's a physical switch in my brain. it's incredibly painful to fight this almost every day where I have to sit at my computer. i feel much better when I have to walk somewhere, I feel more normal. but the second I sit down and try to make a spreadsheet my brain shuts off and I literally can't stress enough how EXTREME the feeling is, maybe I have narcolepsy or something????? I'm so dead

OH AND THE FUCKING SOCIALIZING FUCKS ME UP SO BAD LIKE OUGHHHH I FEEL SO SMALL AND DUMB AND ANNOYING WHEN TALKING TO THESE PEOPLE AND I DON'T GET SOCIAL CUES AND IT MAKES ME ANXIOUS AND AWKWARD

i know that I'm mostly doing art projects for external validation, so i deal with this problem by uh... not doing anything at all. i don't actually know how to do stuff just for myself. every art, every craft that I make, has to be released to public, otherwise it doesn't hold much value to me. feels like wasted time
