Actually, life is beautiful because I say it is. Because I take the time to add a sprinkle of cinnamon to my coffee, and because my sister texts me when she wears clothes I gave her. Today a hawk swooped over my head, right in the middle of downtown, and everyone on the sidewalk stopped to watch. On Halloween I saw a girl wearing the same costume as me across the street and we waved. And today a woman walked straight up to me just to tell me I’m beautiful. And that is enough.

Where do we go in this modern world to experience darkness and beauty and madness and passion? I am so tired of how the world looks now. I crave poetry and romance and creative chaos.
